bad spray in bed liner

got the premium line-x bedliner put in under the rail and got a couple questions. the plastic caps that cover up the removable tie-down hook spots were sprayed over to where i can't use them. anyone have them sprayed any other way? not sure if they could have went around them or not. There is also overspray on the front corner of the bed. first time i've had a spray in bedliner put in not sure if i'm being to critical but considering i paid $550 i feel the lines should have been clean. here are some pics

Seems like the Line-X shop just did a shitty job of prepping your vehicle. I would be pretty upset if they did something like this to my vehicle. And if they cant fix, I would demand a refund.

I would definitely complain to the shop about the crappy overspray. It should not have been like that. If the shop can't fix it, complain to the corporate site. Provide pics for them too. Also ask them about how to access the tie-down spots. If you asked for "under the rail" and they sprayed "over the rail" I think they should fix that for you as well.

My dealer has put in several Tuffy spray in bed liners for me including the two 2014 Silverados I now own. They did it just like yours minus the messy spray over though. They just cut the holes out for the tie downs they installed.

The four tie-downs that are installed they just sprayed over. Yeah I'm pissed I'm going to go back and see what my options are. I was watching them pull my truck out of the garage and the guy was muscling my side mirrors open. After actuating them a couple times they worked fine but how the **** can't u tell that there automatic. For the record this was line-x of Oxnard California

Holy cow, my Line X came out perfect. People have actually been complimenting me on the awesome lines you can see where they taped off. My only complaint is that they removed the 4 tow hooks, sprayed the bed (covering the other covered tow hook areas) and put my tow hooks back. So I do have the 4 tow hooks unsprayed in my bed in their 4 corners, but where the hell am I going to move them now that the other holes are sprayed? thank god they didn't spray my tow hooks in or else my box would never fit near the window.

 

You should DEFEINITELY have them fix it and/or get a discount.

After seeing the horror stories about all of the spray ins, and personal observations, I decided to go with the BedTred 5 pc. liner, which has the appearance of a spray in, but is cushioned, not permanent, and won't destroy the paint underneath!

Oh man that is a really crappy job. When I had mine done they removed the tie downs on my truck and reinstalled them at the original spots. They also sprayed over the caps on the other holes. The job was good however when I washed the truck the next day there was a small amount of over spray on the wheels. Luckily it came off easily.

So what should I tell the Line-x guy when I bring mine in? Under rail, take out the tie downs and punch out the other holes first?

Thanks for posting this, I will make sure the Line-x place I use opens the tie down hooks up before they spray in my liner.

      Which one, the AT or AS?   Starfire is made by Cooper/Goodyear but at $85/tire I'd think I'd need to level-set my expectations that they may not even be round 😉 But you're saying they're decent?   I'm already into this thing $1506 in parts, fluids, etc. Totaled all my receipts today. $250 of that was replacing an EGR and MAP sensor that were probably fine, but I'm not going to return the parts since they've been installed. I'm cheap, but not that cheap. I use it, I keep it!   I may or may not make money if I sell the truck at this point, but, that wasn't really the point. And if I billed my time, I'd be hosed for real. My thought on the tires is I "might" put 1,000 miles on before selling it. I just don't want to put absolute junk on it, that doesn't do anyone any good. If the Solus solidly isn't junk, I'll definitely consider them.

      I leave mine as is. I'm always a trip away from riding on unpaved roads. Dealer can clean it when they prep it after I trade it in for another new truck.

      4WD. Far as I know it came stock with P's and not LT's. Definitely planning to put P's on it, but stock is a 109 XL load rating so I should probably stick within that guideline.   No rebates on anything I can see at the moment. Discount Tire is offering $50 off, but Pep Boys is very competitive on price, and also carries all the off-brand stuff. Les Schwab always wants an arm/leg, but they do good work.   It still has the original spare. Goodyear Wrangler RT/S, thing looks like a tractor tire LOL!! How times have changed.

      2020 Sierra 2500 HD (base model) gas engine 4wd.    All 4 windows roll down on their own. Happens somewhat randomly after stop and engine off - when engine turned off, when walking away from vehicle before or after locks activated. Pulled the window fuse F14 Instrument Panel Fuse Block Right; the driver's side still activates from driver's side door panel; passenger and back seat windows activate from local switches on their doors but not from driver's side group of switches. Power mirrors don't activate with fuse removed either (same fuse for both circuits). Problem not solved.    How can they even activate with fuse removed but they are all still opening and can control from each door?  When they open on their own, I can shut them from the switch in each door, but they don't stay closed.    Seems to be activated somehow with key fob; something bumping the key fob in my pocket or just handling - removed key fob and took it far enough away and now the windows stay closed. Replaced key fob batty just in case, no change.    Sounds like some kind of wiring short or maybe electronics. Dealer will first replace electronic control module without checking anything else and I anticipate problem will still exist since their troubleshooting skills are limited to "do whatever the computer says".  In any case, keyfob seems to be activating the circuitry.    Surely I'm not the only one with this issue, but I can't find anything related on the site. What do yall think?   JohnRoy
