Mikeoxbig Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 My order for a 6.2l Silverado was put in by my dealer today. I was told that the engine is on constraint. Anyone else have one ordered or have any information on this constraint? My salesman thought it could be 4 weeks before my truck begins being production due to the engine.
TJay74 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 yep, several items are on constraint right now with the 6.2 engine being one of those items.
EChavez Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I ordered one as soon as my dealer let me. I went in the day GM said they were available but my dealer pretty much told me they couldn't and the 6.2's weren't available yet. About 3 days later after talking to GM customer service they called and said yes. She's on her way home now.

1kwik72 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I ordered one on 10/22/13 GM accepted the order on 11/06/13 and it has sat at the 1100 status since then. My salesman originally figured 6-8 weeks. From what I have read around the net guys whose orders have been picked within the last week have target production weeks mid December. I figure even if GM picks mine up next week I will be lucky to get a TPW this year given we will be right into the holidays. From what others have said about shipping times taking a month plus I am thinking at the earliest I would have it would be mid February which would be about double the time the dealer figured on the high end. Kind of disappointing to say the least. Craig
EChavez Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 That's awesome. When did you order it? Back in September. It's been a very long wait and I'm just glad it'll be here soon. I can't wait!
Mikeoxbig Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Even Apple doesn't have these kind of constraints when they release a new iPhone.
Johnnyee Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Even Apple doesn't have these kind of constraints when they release a new iPhone. I beg to differ. I got mine (iPhone 5s) the day they came out. My wife missed the initial offering, and had to wait forever. But for the real topic, I ordered my Silverado LTZ 6.2/Max tow on 11/12/13. I am hoping for a mid/late January for delivery. We shall see....

I was being sarcastic, but these trucks came out in July and still have constraints? Maybe not GMs fault, but annoying never the less

Ljrussell94 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I ordered in 10/10/13. And just got a tpw last week for december 16
'01LS1 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I was being sarcastic, but these trucks came out in July and still have constraints? Maybe not GMs fault, but annoying never the less Remember reading GM hired some guys who had been in the industry for years to specifically coordinate with suppliers to prevent this sort of thing. Obviously they were not the most successful. Particularly having supply issues on axles of all things at the Ft. Wayne plant.
edge69 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I ordered a Sierra SLT with a 6.2L engine and the max trailer package on 11/5/13. I just got word today from the dealership that my order now has a target production week of 12/23/13 with an anticipated deliver in mid January.

Mine (Silverado LTZ) was accepted 4 weeks ago (11/12/13), has the 6.2l / Max Tow, and has a TPW of 12/23/13.
whaler Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Just talked to a dealer who had 3 Serria Denalis. All of them had 6.2. Sold them all. I can't imagine that up here in Newbrunswick, Canada would get them first??
