Here is better video to audibly demonstrate the low freq rumble of my recently installed Flowmaster Super 50 Series Dual exhaust system.

The OEM Flapper was retained (similar to the Borla/GM) system. This is a 6.2.

cut it off the stock system and reinserted it upstream of the Flowmaster.

Finally got my exhaust on. 2.25" piping from the cats back to a flowmaster 2.5 x-pipe, piped to a flowmaster dual in-out muffler, then piped off passed the tires at a 90.

Well I ordered my Borla XR-1 (15 inch case)! Should be here tomorrow! I might've messed up though, I got the 3.5" in/out... So the exhaust shop might have fun mounting it up. I plan to leave the resonator in place and probably remove the flapper.

Leave both the flapper and the resonator.

Leave both the flapper and the resonator.

From what I've read on here, leaving the resonator will make the exhaust a lot quieter than without no matter what muffler it put in place. I had everything from the muffler back removed on mine and it sounds great. Even though I don't mind the V4 drone, sometime down the line I may have a flapper valve added to the front of the muffler and see how much that helps the drone. I have dual out so that's why I may put it in front of the muffler. I know a couple people on here did that.

I had everything from the muffler back removed on mine and it sounds great. Even though I don't mind the V4 drone, sometime down the line I may have a flapper valve added to the front of the muffler and see how much that helps the drone. I have dual out so that's why I may put it in front of the muffler. I know a couple people on here did that.

I regret removing mine.

The only reason I didn't say anything to them about it when I had the exhaust done was because honestly I hadn't had the truck that long and didn't even know there was a flapper valve there to help with the V4 drone. I thought nothing of it since with factory exhaust you can't tell what mode it's in unless you look at the dash.

My wife drove my truck yesterday, and I was standing at the front door watching her drive up the street (she has learned to use the throttle well!).

I gotta tell ya: That 14" Magnaflow sounds BadAss!

You get used to the sound inside the truck, but from outside, sounds MUCH better, more aggressive.

Just confirmed my choice of the Magnaflow. Glad I did it.

I've made a video, but it's not a very good one, non-conclusive. I'm planning to make another one.

I did the 14" Magnaflow with flapper and resonator delete, not a cat-back. I'll post a new video/audio clip in a day or two.

I think I've decided I'm going with an 18" or maybe 14" magnaflow or the flow master super 44. I have about a 30 minute commute on the interstate to and from work. If the drone becomes an annoyance and something that my music won't tune it out, is the flapper easily added back in post-install? I like hearing the exhaust rumble and am looking for something loud/mean and aggressive. I don't know what the v4 will sound like in person as I've never had a vehicle with some type of AFM. The vids on here are nice, but I'm sure they are like anything else, they are a little different in person. I've got the 5.3 so I want to hear the 5.3 lol.
