Im the opposite of many of you, I would not want the plug-and-play version as I use the odb2 port for the performance monitor/on the fly tuner that uses it. Im glad that pnp option was not available when my installer installed my set lol.

It is spliced and has an additional port so you don't lose ability to plug anything in. I have the hardwire and installed myself. The pnp would have saved a lot of time.

That makes sense. So if u unplug the pnp it would disable the steps? Could come in handy as well.

I would think so as that's where it gets its open door signal from. Would be easier than pulling the under hood fuse if you needed to.

Yes, if you unplug it, the steps are disabled. Yes, that is where it gets the open door signal from. And, yes, there is a cable (Pass Thru Harness) that can be ordered to essentially extend the odb2 port so that you don't lose the ability to use it for other purposes (as well as dealer purposes) without unplugging the steps. Well, I had the first failure with my AMP PowerSteps...rear LED died. The good news is they have great customer support. Used my volt meter to determine it wasn't a connection problem. Contacted Joe at AMP and he sent a replacement LED kit right out. Took me longer to get my tools out than to replace the LED. All is working great again.

+1 for me as well. Need to call that warranty number today and get a replacement LED myself.

Contact Joe Ledezma, (949) 221-4181 or [email protected] . Joe helped me find the installer I used and he was very responsive to questions.

After 2 months of waiting, my custom order N-Fab textured steps finally arrived today. Installation was simple with just basic hand tools needed. My kids are happy to finally have a way to get into the truck by themselves.

To amps. So far I really like the amps and easier to get in with. Went with the OBD port plugin so install was fairly simple

    • I understand that. The price is what it is, though. The price is what oil costs today, where our choices have led us, where supply is, and where demand is, in the market that is. Speculation is for futures, what we think the price will be, but with incomplete information at the time the price is forecast. I know you know this, but you appear to be intent on making a secondary point here about what you think the market could or should be, if only other choices.   In 1975 it became illegal to export US Crude. I'm conflicted on what the best answer is. Free markets allow export in pursuit of profit. But there is also a lot to gain by producing and consuming our own oil here. How do you reconcile it?
    • That sir is a choice. And even if it were not for all the reasons stated, this disruption has zero to do with the reality of the actual logistics and everything to do with the greed of SPECULATION. Spot price is irrelevant to reality.
    • What I think you're saying is there is supply here at home, and in Venezuela, and we could ease pricing if only it were favorable to do so.   Well, yes?   But that's not the current market. Supply isn't what could someday exist, if only, it's what producers are willing to produce and sell at a certain price point.   The national price of single family homes would come way down if we'd just slap together a few million homes this summer.   RAM and GPUs would get a lot cheaper if we just set up some factories to produce a bunch more and stopped using it to build out AI data centers.
