I was told once that they don't make any cab mount nerfs that work on a k2 just rocker, are those cab or rocker?

I am pretty confident I used all the parts correctly. Yes, there is only one support in the center.

I'm pretty confident the bars are on the correct side. The reason I say this is because when my dad and I went to install the first one, we quickly realized that we grabbed the wrong bar when trying to line it up. Grabbed the other one and everything lined up. I am very OCD too and this is going to drive me nuts, I need to figure something out. It was me you were telling about the weight limit, 465lbs is pretty impressive...

EDIT - maybe I should trade these in on the Raptors.

The Raptors are GREAT

I've never had them get that close to the mud flaps or not be parallel to the body/door panel. The sales pic shows normal install spacing. I'd contact AutoAnything right away. Something is definitely wrong.

I think diesels are the only ones that have cab mounts

They're cab mounted.

I'd return 'em dude. That's what the guy at the local accessory shop told me they set of cab mounted nerfs looked like when they tried em. I think you mentioned raptors, I've had mine for about 18 months and I like 'em. My buddy gut Lund I think for his silverado and I like those a little better.

They emailed me back telling me I have the bars installed backwards and that the pad closes to the curve should be at the front. I will check for this when I leave work.

EDIT: So I tried remounting them on the opposite side like they recommended and that didn't work. It's actually impossible to mount them as DeeZee support described because the middle bracket won't line up with the hole on the bar. It's off by probably 3 inches.

For now, I didn't bother to remount the steps, and I didn't want to scuff my mud flaps up anymore. Waiting to hear back from them hopefully today. I am almost convinced I'll be sending these back.

I bought the Go Rhino 6" OE Extreme II sidesteps for my '15 silverado. The instruction below shows a welded nut on the front rocker panel. But my silverado doesn't have that welded nut! Can anyone else with 2015 confirm?

The '15 does have a welded nut. Its on the rear hole on the rocker panel. Its for the bottom hole i believe .. kinda hard to explain. I may be able to get a pic here soon

Raptor Stainless 5" OE style bars. These are warranty replacements for the rusty powder coated bars that only lasted about 18 months.

Exactly the point that I have been trying to make ... go with SS when possible...

Yeah I really just didn't really have a preference from a styling stand point so I figured why not save $100 and given that they had a 10yr warranty I foolishly assumed they'd last ten years lol.

Wow - what a great resource. After two hours of reading everything that there is to know about nerf bars - I just ordered the Raptor Magnum 5" Ovals for my Sierra Crew Cab. Thanks all.

Enjoy .. i really like mine. I believe youll have 4 support brwckets opposed to my silverado 3.

But i plan on in putting a 4th since im getting a replacement bar from Raptor which will have new support brackets, so will just add another to the rocker panel and let the bar rest on it

    • That sir is a choice. And even if it were not for all the reasons stated, this disruption has zero to do with the reality of the actual logistics and everything to do with the greed of SPECULATION. Spot price is irrelevant to reality.
    • What I think you're saying is there is supply here at home, and in Venezuela, and we could ease pricing if only it were favorable to do so.   Well, yes?   But that's not the current market. Supply isn't what could someday exist, if only, it's what producers are willing to produce and sell at a certain price point.   The national price of single family homes would come way down if we'd just slap together a few million homes this summer.   RAM and GPUs would get a lot cheaper if we just set up some factories to produce a bunch more and stopped using it to build out AI data centers.
    • The turn signal/multifunction switch is faulty.  I've seen a few of these go bad at work.
    • I am experiecing the same issue, I have gone in the setting and disabled rain sensing function but I am still experiencing this. Whe i use my turn signal they will redomly turn on. Sometime they stay on and others times we swipe 2 or 3 times and stop. Its super anoying, escpecially after a fresh wash. Anyone have any advice? . rain-sensing function, but I am still experiencing this issue Sometimes they stay on, and other times we swipe 2 or 3 times and stop. It's super annoying, especially after a fresh wash. When I use my turn signal, they will randomly turn on. • If we actually used any significant amount of that source in the USA then I'd agree but we don't. We've had that discussion before. We drill and pump more than we use. Thing is, we sell. We export. Gas and Crude. It's more profitable so any shortage here is self inflicted and LEGAL.    I worked a gas plant that has multiple fuel sources available and I worked in the furnace and boiler plant in that facility. I'd had days we swapped fuel types four times in a twelve hour shift which isn't done on supply but on margin. Two of the fuel sources are internally generated. Tail gas and DAK, both of which are sold as well a consumed. We always had more than we needed to run the process but we chose the fuel that produced the best margin not bought at the cheapest price always. A good bit of math to that and back in the time that was done on a slide rule.     I worked the Shale Oil Semiworks of Chevron Research and CONOCO Research in Salt Lake City. That process never went into production although it was very successful. Why? Did we lack oil bearing shale? Nope. Price of crude never made the margins work. That was in the late 70's early 80's. Remember history? What was happening then was a reaction to that situation. It didn't drive it. If so then it's easy. This isn't a supply and demand thing. This is a profit and margin thing and AI rules that now.    In no refining situation that I was ever in would a bomb hitting a well anywhere in the world 'instantly' interrupt or even distress the supply. Most plants have more than a months worth of crude in the tank field and more in pumping stations. That yo-yo could play out over days, weeks and maybe months and have zero impact on plant operations. How many times has this been off and on in the last few months? These people and not stupid. These plants measure down time in hundreds of thousands of dollars per day. They are not sucking fumes or waiting on the next truckload with baited breath. Besides, as I noted, they are for the most part 'vertically integrated'. They own it from the dirt is sits in to the delivery rack and sometimes to the pump. It has a HUGE shock absorber built in. When production suffers, refining wins and when refining is winning exploration is killing. The rest of that crap in the news is a 'news cycle'. Government dipping in to reserves? Oil is stealing their milk money. There's a reason Chevron abandon Venezuela infrastructure and it had nothing to do with security of US citizens. Nationals run those plants. it has to do with MARGINS disappearing to corruption. They are in no hurry to return. Is there supply there? Oh yea. More than enough to offset what is bought in the middle east. Just isn't ???? Profitable.    We have supply. There are places in Illinois you can drive a pipe into the ground and run your homes natural gas furnace on it.    A refinery fire will gum up the supply works but not a localized war where the market is using a limited supply from. Now Europe, that's something other....
