JorgeGomez4462 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 (edited) But is their no carpet all the way to the dash? Or just under between the 2 seats? If their isn't any between the 2 seats, the Jump Seat should cover it. And like I said, very interested in your Center Console. Edited June 14, 2016 by JorgeGomez4462
timna Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 The area where the speaker in the console is sitting has no carpet. The length of the console. I will have all the parts on Thursday so I will get working on it and take pictures. One question I need the cover in this picture it goes next to the gas pedal for the dash brace. I have been trying to locate a part # or even what it is called. Any help on that would be great! I talked to a upholstery shop today and they said for me to bring it in once I get the seat in and they will see what they can do but I did order the weathertech mats today I think either way it is the way to go on keeping dirt out. We camp a lot and dirt is a major issue so thanks for suggesting those. Thanks
JorgeGomez4462 Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I wouldn't need that either after installing the Center Console. I could give this to you. It's exactly like it. Black in color also.
timna Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Curiosity got the best of me and I yanked out the console. Was a lot easier than I thought. Anyways here is what is left, will have the large hole in the carpet at the top to contend with. Question 1 -- In on pic i circled a wire, it was hooked into the bose speaker out the back but runs into a big wire loom behind the air bag module. I am assuming it has to be for the speakers since it was coming out the back of one? It goes into a large loom of wires and goes to under the driver seat. Just want to make sure nothing is going to blow up haha! Question 2 -- As far as the air bag control when everyone takes out their jump seat is that under it? Excuse the mess inside, I just got back from a camping trip and it's a mess... Good time to vacuum though! 1
Rocky Ridge Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 you can order this front piece with 3 openings for the console & do away with that extra non working USB ports. It looks & fits perfect. You will need to remove plastic from the plug & cut a small notch for it to fit in as marked in red. Makes for a cleaner looking console with all working correctly. 1

Jay Donnelly Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I am not comfortable trying this swap myself. I have contacted every Chevy dealer within 100 miles and none will do it. If any of you that have done this successfully are interested in making some extra $$, I would happy as hell to pay you to do it for me.I live in Dayton Ohio I can drive to you around 250 miles. I hate this friggen jump seat so much I am ready to buy a new truck if I cant get this done.

I hate my jump seat too but i wouldnt buy another truck solely because of it lol the swap doesnt seem to be THAT complicated from what i read in this forum, and i aim to do it myself when i get a few more mods out of the way. I have already taken the jump seat out before to run wiring and it's no big deal. But yeah if you dont feel comfy doing it yourself then maybe someone local to you can help you install it Edited June 24, 2016 by Rez 1
15SilverSilverado Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 To each their own - it's YOUR truck, do what you want to with it, by all means. This just seems like an awful lot of hassle and work to deal with, just to get more 12V and USB outlets. Just my two cents, but these are the reasons I wanted the jump seat center console and did not want the full-size version from day one ... 1. I like that I was able to move the jumper seat forward a few inches, to allow more arm placement on the armrest, relative to where my seat is, in terms of comfortable driving. The default position was too far back. On the full-size console, this is not an option - the armrest has to stay where it is - I'm not a fan of that. 2. The full-size console gets way more dirty, filled with dust and crap, etc. Not a big deal, but that always annoyed me in previous vehicles. 3. I like having three cup holders there, as opposed to two. One for the smartphone, one for a drink, one for the dip cup, lol. 4. I like annoying my liberal friends, by showing them the locked gun safe below the seat. That gets their undies in a bunch, real quick. 5. My wife likes to put her purse on the carpet in the front center. Can't do that with the full-size console. Happy wife = happy life. So, those are just my opinions. When I had the cloth seats, it didn't look as "classy and LTZ" as the full-size center console. But since I had the black Katzkin leather put in, it looks as nice as anything else. Here's a pic of it ... 2

15SilverSilverado Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 15SilverSilverado, regarding your reason #1 about being able to move that jump seat forward, how can you adjust that? I would love to have mine moved forward as well. All you do is pop off those bolt covers on the sides - there's four of them. Now, to be frank, I did not re-bolt them back down - that's another project for another day. In the meantime, I just have mine sitting there, but moved a couple of inches forward, on the floor, but it's not exactly "secured", or anything. I don't have kids, and I would never let anyone sit there on that seat, to begin with - no way am I giving up that armrest, LOL. Therefore, it's really not a big deal, if it isn't secured to the floor - it's heavy enough, and doesn't move around at all. Later this year, I'll get around to securing it with new bolts, etc. But, I'm 5'10" and with the seat where I need it, it was too far back, so I said screw the bolts, and moved it forward. If you do this, be careful not to move or pull it too far forward - you've got wires all up in there, for your USB's, SD card, 12V inside and 12V on the back of it. But, it's SO much nicer having it moved forward. Chevy must assume everyone is 6'3", or something. It also makes the back seat much roomier, as well.
