I just bought a 2015 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab and it has the jump seat console and I am wanting to swap it with the full console. After reading all the post it seems like swapping the console out should be even easier since I have 2015. I have all black interior and trim is Synthesis. I am planning on ordering the parts from GMpartsonline. I am ordering the following parts tomorrow. I can't wait to get them swapped out. Am I missing anything? I realize not all the USBs will work but if they charge that is good enough for me.

22995086-plate kit

Installing the physical console is easy, the biggest issue for me was the wire harnesses.

Also, make sure you remove the plastic trim on the support pillar next to your gas pedal BEFORE you put everything in. Trying to get it out later becomes a pita. It's not impossible, but its a bit harder than if you do it first.

Looking forward to the pics!

I went home at lunch to let dog out and it was there. Haven't even got to open the boxes yet. Can wait to start. Thanks for the info. Also, I friend of mine told me that if you disconnect the battery it might lockout the radio. He said he had problems on GM vehicles in the past doing that and just old me to make sure. I haven't heard any talk about this on this forum. Swapping this in a 2015 I am hoping all the USB ports work. I think I read that might since it is a 2015 and the wiring harness is the same for both consoles. I might be wrong though. It doesn't really matter as long as they charge that's all I care about. Only a couple need to hook up to My Link.

I've had my battery disconnected several times for my foglight project. (bumpers and airbag sensors.. yea.. proably a good idea no?)

No issues with the radio being locked out. Plugging the batteyr back in it even remembers the radio station presets.

What it doesn't remember is the time or date.

Mind you I have IO4 with the 4.5" screen. IO5+ with the 8" may be different.. but I doubt they'd do that.

Yea.. I've got 12v going to my usbs but no usb cable. They do nothing right now. Next time I'm in the dash I'll see about putting a cable in there.

I read in this post that there is not way to get the USB on 2014 and below to work with data..only charge. 2015s have both cables so I think I should be good. People have tried to install USB switches and Hubs and no help. Thanks for the info on the battery.

Installed the floor console in my 2015 1500. Check out the pics on my link below. I also put a parts list on there also for guys needing Black Interior with Greyish Trim on Radio which is called Synthesis on the parts list. The step by step directions that darkfox1 posted were great except I did not have to cut the wiring harness out of the jump seat. I was able to disassemble the jump seat cargo box and get it out. Also, the bolts that secure the seats to the floor are T50 and a T50 socket is incredibly handy to have when doing this! Thanks to everyone who has posted on this subject. It really made it easier to do this!

Glad the info helped!

I didn't have to cut the harness out of the jumpseat, but I did modify it to fit the new console, and used the new console wire harness to make a "custom harness" of sorts.

In hindsight, knowing the LEDs in the console are 12v, I would have wired them into the cig lighter wires so that they work all the time. My console has no lighting in it right now, and I don't plan to ever take it out.. which means I'll probably never have lighting in it.

After having my console for a month or so now I LOVE having it. It's like its always been there. The storage benefit is HUGE for me. I carry so much more stuff with me now and have tons of room to spare.

darkfox1 Did you get the interior USBs working. When I removed my Radio I saw that there is a unused USB plug near the Radio. It is the 5th plug from the left. I was wondering if I ran a cable from that plug to the unused connector that came on the new console if it would work. DId you notice this when you installed yours. Here is a picture of the plug near the Radio.

This is my theory as well. I haven't been back into my dash of late to give it a try.

I have a spare usb cable from when I cut the harnesses.

I think this may be whats required to make the charging aspect work.

I also considered putting the 5v line in with a 12v>5v converter, that should give the usb ports all the power they need.

You can buy a cheap 12-5 converter out of an old phone charger. I actually have one that does the job. I haven't tried it yet though, I'll only use that if the usb trick doens't work.

you don't have to install a 12 to 5 v converter

you only have to put 12v+ and ground on the usb socket in back .........pin 4 and 6 ....4 is ground and 6 is for the 12v+

for the usb you need to plug it but the place to plug it is not behind radio but behind the lower glove box in the hmi (human machine integration) you will see the usb plug

you need a usb cable with male mini usb to male mini usb (hard to find but it exist or you take to mini usb male that you sold togheter
