Hi pgamboa,

Yesterday I checked the HMI harness made by local shop and they left two pair of wires cut on the left harness (See picture attached), could you tell me what are they for? or do you know were I can get the electrical diagram in order to see what signal is missing? I can not stream music, or use handsfree function, sine I have no audio when I make phone calls.

Thanks in advance for your support,

You should start a new thread on this.  There are lots of people here waiting on an update from me on a console harness.  I found what I think these wires are for.  Please start a new thread and will help you there.  On the GMUpfitter manual for 2016, Page 1007 of 1617 shows this 16 pin connector.

Thanks,

Thanks pgamboa, I will start it as soon as I learn how to do it!!!!

Finally got time today to do the install. I'm not sure why alot of  post say you have to take out the seat or seats.  I see no reason to remove either seat to install this.  This took about a hour with leaving both seats in.

Really nice looking truck and great job on installing console! Did you get everything connected and working?  I am waiting on my light bar to come in before I contact pgamboa again for help on install.  I want to utilize a couple of the power outlets up front for front LED lights and rear spot lights on mine. I even thought about swapping out the new console front plate with a CB head unit, but I don't do many trails so will just utilize that area for LED light switches and USB ports/110 outlet.

Thanks I'm very happy with it.  I've bought 5 new trucks and every time i wish I had got a center console.   I don't buy a High Country or Denali so they usually have a jump seat.  I plan on keeping this truck a little longer because they are getting to damn expensive.  I just hooked up the cig outlet and 110 volt outlet and waiting for the plug n play harness.

may sound a little crazy to you guys but would it be possible to swap out the center console for a jump seat? I have an ltz and would like to take out the center console and put in a jump seat but wasn't sure what all is left exposed under the center console once you take it out.
We can trade my jump seat

***PnP Harness UPDATE***

Haven't had much time to work on PnP Console Harnesses, but the ONE harness that was bundled with a console I sold did have snag on install.  The buyer said the connector that I used (that plugs into the under seat connector) did not quite fit and needed modification.  Sounded like there was a "keying" problem.  This is where the connector is slightly different on the housing.

So... I'll need to keep this in "Beta" until I can understand the full requirements for the different years.

Thanks,

got console on its way.  so whats the bottom line here. I have a 2014, I don't care (at all) if all the USBs work as data, as long as at least one does, doesn't matter which one.  I DO want them all to work as chargers though.  What is the EASIEST way to do that.  Minimal cutting and splicing please.

If you remove the jumpseat harness and keep intact, you’ll find most of the connections you need. It should allow you plug in:

Rear 12V
Inside Compartment 12v
Inside Compartment USB

The front 12V and 110V outlet will use the existing from your ashtray location.

The front 2nd port will need to be spliced in and can be done with the neighboring Plug.

sounds easy enough.  and whats the fast easy way to power (only) the front usbs?

Instead of driving the inside Compartment USB, use that connection to drive the front hub.

yea but whats the "easy" way to power the one that is not hooked to the jump seat harness.  I understand it would be power only and not data, and that's fine.

The hubs need a USB feed (via the USB cable / then on the 6-Pin, it needs power and ground.

The glove box HMI has (2) available USB Ports. Green and Black Plug. So, you’ll need a green to gray, and a black to gray to feed both USB hubs, plus the power/ground on the 6-pin

thanks! and is that easily done once the console is already in?  i.e. can i do the console with the jumpseat harness, get everything working with the exception of the front USB ports, then at a later time do that portion of it?

Yep. When you have the harness out, inspect the existing 6-pin that plugs into the USB Hub.

Pin 6 (power) and pin 4 (ground) is the Splice to power up the other Hub. This, along with a USB cable feed from the HMI is all you should need to get a hub working.

    • I tried before I updated the scan tool just incase an update messed it up, but it never worked so I updated the scan tool and it still didn't work.   Only difference is I click on Sierra not Chevrolet cause I have a Sierra.   If I click on 2026-2024 I didn't have any option to change placard, when I click on 2023 it does give me the option but when I try to do it,.it says vehicle not supported!   I have my region or market or whatever it is set to America I think, is that what yours is set to?
    • Its just that it worked on 2024 trucks on this forum and my 2025 model truck, unless GM did something since that point to screw up access or Autel has a bad update. I haven't had need to use my tool since last year when I did the changes to the placard pressure settings and since then I updated the software on my Autel but have not plugged into the OBD so hard to say if I would get a surprise as well.    All I know last year when I bought the Autel I was warned to be sure to update it before I tried using the unit as they said who knows how long ago unit itself was actually manufactured as the software could be way out of date.
    • And so you had gone through the process of registering and updating the tool and so on ?. All I can say is that on the front page as the tool fires up you go to advanced mode, then vehicle model comes up and you choose Silverado ( not the DRW or EV  since your a single rear wheel ) , then I think its choice 2 which is 07/2021 - 12/2026 ( 433mhz 13542523 ) as that is the series of tpms sensors and then go down to choice 5 which is tire type/pressure selection. Hit yes and it says to connect to OBD port and turn ignition on.    Having said this, I updated the software in my tool lately and these year range choices look different from the past due to them doing some updates it would appear and I have not connected up to the OBD port since last year so hopefully I am not in for a surprise with them screwing up the software and that it won't work on my truck anymore either.    So my question is, when you plugged into the OBD and started your truck it had that message on the Autel screen "vehicle not supported" ?. That does seem odd as tire shops would be pissed right off if hey can't use their tool on the model year after mine that in theory is supposed to be much the same truck ... unless GM did some change in the computer system to block certain things from access.
    • Understanding and using modern scan tools is its own body of knowledge. I had little hope that would work...programming access to the BCM is probably required and that is not easy for us consumers. Expensive scan tool, GM programming subscription, online authentication, etc.   It also may be a matter of finding the right dealer to program it for you. Flashing a modern BCM might be a little too advanced for most tire shops.
    • Update for anyone following:    Installed everything as shown in diagram. Opted for 8 AWG from Battery Positive to a 50A resettable inline breaker. 8 AWG is tied into to 2x 12 AWG wires feeding a 6 way fuse bus in parallel (manufacturer’s design of what I purchased).    4 of the 6 fuses available for circuits are tied to terminal 30 of each relay. I tied a jumper from one of my spare circuits off the bus to terminal 86 of each relay. The trigger, terminal 85, was pulled from my interior by way of T-Taps from the X61A-X5 pins 10, 11, 17 and 23. This was the hardest part of the job. Even with the X61A unbolted and the X5 removed - there was VERY little wiggle room.  I added back up lights that I want to come on with my cargo lamp - but when I would check continuity between S48A-X1 pin 18 to its respective landing point on the X61A-X5 it triggers the factory relay… Instead I opted for a add-a-fuse on the passenger interior fuse panel (fuse location 10 - cargo lamp) and ran it through the boot on the driver side to my load. Did this to avoid introducing any electrical gremlins.   Note: Please check for continuity between the S48A-X1 and the X61A-X5. In my case wire colours were not the same as other’s who have posted. To do a continuity check you need a Multimeter. Completely disassemble the S48A-X1 and remove the brown face plate off the X61A-X5 by way of a flat head screwdriver - this was the only way I could get any results.   The outputs, terminal 87 of the relays, were fed into a junction box and landed at Individual studs and were labelled Aux 1-4.    At this point, all you need to do is run wire to your loads and bring them to ground. I created a negative bus in the engine bay, all my negatives land here.    For anyone having issues with all of your new aux switch lights coming on with the press of one - I noticed this only to be an issue when the battery wasn’t hooked up to my relays? No idea why, but it was quickly corrected by having my system buttoned up and functional.
