looks good . do you have the part number for the new switch ???

This. I need a switch like this to wire up to some addition LED's I am putting on the front. If you pop off the trim section where the controls are the part number should be labeled on the back of the switch.

Dash cams can work against you too however. In the event that you're at fault, you have to turn over the video.

I would like to get one anyways though. I think one that has an auto-on would be helpful for parking lot incidents when you're inside a store and come out to find someone backed into your car and left.

Don't say you have one if you're at fault. Snap that sd card in half

This would never occur to me, if I was at fault I'd have owned up to it without video. People like you are reason these cameras exist and have any use at all.

Got the cameras installed today. Only took about 2 hours start to finish. Hardest part was dropping the drivers side of the headliner to run the line to the rear camera.

Good choice in camera. I have a Blackvue as well and they are awesome quality and features!

I see you have out mounted on the rear slider window, or does it only appear that way? What model did you end up buying for the front and rear?

Several years ago I was involved in one of the earlier distracted driver (cell phone) accidents. Four vehicles were damaged and some injuries incurred. I was impressed with how well everybody behaved, took responsibility and helped one another. The cause was not easily evident except for the honesty of the driver causing the mishap. I can't express how much stress this took off an already horrible event and how much respect I had for this individual! I want you to know how much I appreciate people like you who have the guts to accept responsibility for when they are at fault!

Never been involved in something like that so I can only imagine. Ive gotten close to getting a camera a few times just havent yet, everytime I see a close call though on the road makes you think about needing it. I just think its common sense to own up to damage you cause. Ive only been involved in minor incidents really at fault and not.

Two different opposing opinions/opinions

Evidently one can not truly know what they would do in a theoretical situation.

I dont think you know what that means. Opposing opinions between two people is not cognitive dissonance.

Based on past experiences of not lying to get out of fault in a situation would be a pretty good predictor of not destroying your camera/card to get out of a future similar event.

I didn't use cognitive dissonance based on our to different options.

I know saying it's your fault is the "right" thing to do.

But

The consequences could/might be avoided.

"Cognitive dissonance."

Legally it's not your job to say who's fault it is, even if it was your fault. That's up to the insurance and the authority to rule the verdict.

This page isn't for our disagreements, if you would like to talk more about this feel free to message me.

Haha I guess that is basically the definition of it, Ill give you that.

I think morals trump legal responsibility but Ill leave the rest at that.
