Just test drove my new truck!

My Sierra that I ordered back in December came in earlier this week and I just had a chance to go by and test drive it and sign all the paperwork. They are sending it out to have the bedliner sprayed on Monday morning and then I can pick it up. I took it out on the interstate and got it up to 75 and didn't experience any vibrations. I looked out for all the problems that people have been having and didn't see anything yet (that doesn't mean they won't show up with some time and miles). The seat back felt rock solid, the heated seats worked good, we were fairly close to town but the FM reception was great, the red lights around the radio and HVAC knobs were all lit up, the dash wasn't warped and I didn't hear any noise from the 4wd switch when it was in Auto mode. I also used the remote start to crank it and then checked to see if the power steering was working OK and it seemed fine. It was 19 degrees outside so that should have been a pretty good test for us here in SC. The only thing I was somewhat disappointed in was that GM deleted the rear sliding window but I knew they had already removed that option when I placed my order. I can live without that. I have had one in several trucks and barely ever used them. The sunroof gets used more than the rear slider.

Attached is a crappy picture that I took while sitting inside my current truck this morning. Better pics to follow next week.

Thanks,

cool! I know the excitement. And just so you know.. The Sierra never had an issue with the HVAC knobs... that was the Silverado.

Craig, it's coming home Monday! They actually went ahead and sent it over to have the liner sprayed this afternoon and they will go pick it up tomorrow but I can't get back over there (about 1.5 hrs away) to get it until Monday afternoon. Kids sports take priority tomorrow.

I will be putting a 1.5" leveling kit and 275/60/20 Toyo AT2s on it soon but I want to put a few miles on it first and see if any problems pop up. That way the dealer can't blame any issues on the leveling kit or my decision to swap out the tires. Hopefully it will be problem free.

Cool, I hear ya on the kids thing fortunately mine are a little young to be getting into a lot of extra curriculars yet. Although I am taking my daughter to watch her friends basketball game tomorrow morning so I can relate.

I plan to swap tires also. It just showed up on my dealers website today so I am hoping it comes in sometime next week. I plan to give it a few miles then swap the stockers for a set of 275/55/20 Cooper Zeon LTZ. my brother will be buying my take offs. I just wanted something more aggressive. Seeing how I am leasing it I don't want to deal with a level kit or programming for bigger tires so stock size will do. My buddy who works for Discount tire got transferred to a store about an hour away so I will have plenty of time to evaluate it back to back with the stock tires and the more aggressive Coopers.
