I would imagine mpg could be 1-2 difference. 4.10 would definitely be better down low for off road. Shorter gears have a better crawl speed. The taller the gear the easier it is on the highway. I haven't driven a truck with 3.73s. If you are considering that ratio, I would check online for a dealer that has one of the lifted high country models with 3.73. Test drive to get a feel. Wish I had done that before my install

Do you think you may have done differently if you had test drove? And if it that minimal of a difference I may end up staying with the 4.10 then. Would be nice to know I have that extra power if I ever need it

Yes it is very possible. If the 3.73s helped on the highway and still gave me some grunt. My truck was so doggish with the 3.42s. 410s woke it up on top of the tune, Gibson catback and a Volant cai

looking at swapping my 3.08s for some 4.10s. ive been quoted around 1600-1700 for parts alone.. curious what everyone is paying for there parts for the swap? I have a 8" on 35s for a week and the 3.08s just aren't doing it for me as I had expected haha.

That is going to be about right depending on what locker or posi you go with.

Anyone want to sell their old gear sets? I have 3.08 and want to upgrade.

Correct me if Im wrong but isnt the 3.08s in the smaller 8.5 (10 bolt) and the 3.42s are in the larger 9.5 (12 bolt)? I dont believe the 3.42 gears will fit the 3.08 carriers. Again I could be wrong about this.

So the 14s have three housings? I thought they only had a 10 bolt and 12 bolt for the 14s. 308 being 10 and 342s and 373s in the 12 bolt

Also, has anyone contacted a manufacturer to see when they might release a direct replacement for the 14s? I emailed Yukon this morning; if and when I hear from them I will update.

The lower two are a 9.5 while the 3.73 is a 9.75 I believe. Here is my 3.08 and 12 bolt.

do the green marks on my diff cover mean that someone has been in there since they are not aligned?

The larger 9.76" is on NHT 5.3 and on all 6.2's

Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure you have to have the nht on the 6.2 as well to get that axle

Been researching this... l think you were right. Looks like all 6.2s have 9.76"
