Aaron - I thought the same thing. I even asked the GM rep twice if he was sure the TPW was still 3/31 and he said yes. I also asked what status code it was at but he didn't have that info. I am going to do the chat this morning to see what they say. I will post an update later.

I have the full VIN and I decoded it last night and it matches the config of my truck (chassis, engine, etc.). It is built (or to be built) in Mexico at the Silao plant. Really wish it was built in the USA but I didn't have the ability to pick that when I ordered.

Anyone from GM - can you please comment back if this is normal to get the VIN over a week before the TPW?

I have also found errors on the GM order tracking info so what they show might not have been updated yet. When I ordered my truck and it finally shipped GM showed it was in the Rail yard in Kansas City for around 5 days, I then went to my dealer to check in on if they can speed up the process. My salesman checked my order and it still showed in Kansas City, we then drove the lot to make sure and sure enough it was sitting there on the lot from earlier that day. So take it for what it's worth but it is not always accurate. It must be a crew cab as all crew cabs are built in Silao Mexico.

If you have a VIN, it's either built or very very near complete. Unless GM has changed something recently, the VIN is assigned by their master inventory system when the vehicle is in the first QA/QC station. This is also when ownership transfers to the transportation company's holding account.

Jeez, so your truck was sitting on the lot while the system showed it was in a totally different state?! Thats weak! But I guess it's good you found it rather than it actually still in KS. lol

So now I'm not sure what is going on. I did the GMC chat this morning and talked with a rep that said the TPW is still 3/31 and they didn't have a VIN associated with the order. I gave her the VIN that the rep gave me over the phone and she said she would note it. I don't know what to think now. :-/

I feel your pain...I was told I was at 3400 with a TPW of 3/31 last saturday. On Tuesday I inquired again, and the information was confirmed. Fast forward to today...I was told by an agent that there were two screens showing different information. One screen still had 3400 & TPW 3/31...the other screen she said had 3100 and a TPW of 4/14!

She took a few minutes to contact someone else to confirm one or the other and then came back to me to say that the new info is correct, and that the original info was incorrect due to a bug in the system.

pretty much ruined my day...i seemed to be making progress and getting closer. Now I'm not sure where it stands.

Guess I better just suck it up and enjoy the rest of the ride...man, the time, it's jus standing still LOL

I received word that my truck was produced today and I now have the Vin #. How long typically does it take for dealer delivery?

2-3 weeks with it being closer to 3 due your location being a long way from the final assembly plant.

Cliff,

I got the same message from my dealer yesterday morning. My TPW was this week. On a whim, I decided to do the GMC chat thing yesterday afternoon. The rep told me at that time that my truck was on a train headed to the distribution center in SC. It appears that mine may have been built earlier than was expected unless it was built early Sunday morning. Who knows? I'm just really ready for it to reach me!

I'm on day 16. Built and shipped from the Indiana plant to Louisiana.

Just chatted with GMC and they said that I am at broadcast code 4000 which is Vehicle Available to Ship. That is great news, most likely have my other truck sold by this weekend so it's just a matter of when the dealer gets it.

Day 16 on which broadcast code?? 4000??

Got an email from my dealer today that my truck has been produced and he provided me with the last 8 of the VIN. I confirmed with gmc chat. So my truck that had a TPW of 3/31 (confirmed as recently as this past Friday) was already made. The VIN last 8 provided by my dealer matches the VIN that the GM rep gave me over the phone a week or two ago that no one had any knowledge of at GM.

I'm really happy that it was done sooner and I hope it gets to me quickly. GM said it was scheduled for transport from a port in Mexico in the next couple of days.

More reason that GM needs order tracking with more info available to the customer over the web. I can track a $1,000 computer from Dell to my house but not a $55,000 truck. Come on GM let's get with it.

Cliff - our vehicles may be shipped together. :)

    • Yes it can be a challenge for obvious reasons. Remember when people were blocked on websites during the last administration if you didn’t agree. Being retired I can scan all the sites and podcasts. I start in the morning with Glen beck during my walk. Then I watch Orielly that I recorded the night before. I scan the headlines on Newsmax, and News Nation. News Nation has Como so it’s diverse. Weekly him and Orielly have debates sometimes Steven A is along for the ride. My nightcap is Jesse Watters for comic relief. Then it’s the Astros, that’s been disappointing. Sometimes Greg Kelly if the Astros are getting blown out.
    • I believe the only thing that can be monitored is negative electrical current returning through the frame instead of the ground wire. It's just a guess, but that's how your home gfi breakers work and my theory is that is what's going on. I will be watching for what you figure out.
    • Glad it worked for you. I tried that 1st, about 2 years ago. Didn't help. I also tried doing a hard reset (disconnecting battery for minimum of 30 minutes). Worked a couple times, but after one summer of doing it over and over, that no longer worked.  I was fairly confident it was either the compressor or a failed actuator, but I just couldn't identify which one. Had to research which actuators do what and which last numbers are associated with each.
    • Took me FIFTEEN MINUTES to find this. Isn't that a problem? On the mainstream media I can INSTANTLY find 100 articles bashing President Trump ... but when it comes to TRUTH in American corporate news & search engines, it's carefully filtered to support ONE SIDE. A Republic cannot survive like this! Incredible! Even all the AI searchers out there failed as well! ChatGPT said it needed more details on the video that I provided a DIRECT LINK to! I thought AI was the be-all, end-all?? I had to dig it up myself. This should be FRONT PAGE NEWS!!! 🤬   Here's the statement directly from our President:     Glenn Beck's reporting on the operation:   https://glennbeck.com/watch/videos/trump-just-revealed-a-massive-military-secret-that-lowered-gas-prices   In case that link doesn't work, here's the YouTube link:     And another 15 minutes to find this clip out of Glenn Beck's video - the first few seconds is all the corporate media will allow the public to see, since the low IQ people will think Trump said " I love inflation ", and that was the end of it. Taken WAY out of context! Here's that part, plus the 2nd part about the oil smuggling operation:
    • More is cylinder deactivation. Kia-Hyundai Ive had 4. The warranty is the same 10 years 100K miles. My grandson drives the first one 05 Elantra GT. My wife drives the second one 2011 Genesis. The Genesis still performs as new and looks great. The Elantra looks rough. He’s not kind to it. The third was a Genesis coup. The fourth was a Santa Fe. Those were my daily drivers. I don’t keep them long. Kia is the same as Hyundai with the same warranty. I looked at the K-4 today. Too small, otherwise pretty good buy. Most of Hyundai and Kia’s have a performance upgrade.
