Not holding my breath for any additional features via future updates. GM has a habit of not making new tech available in last years models, even if they're identical vehicles.

Example: the OnStar phone app. When released, you could only use it with the newest GMT-900's, even though my GMT-900 was only 1 yr old at the time and shared all the same parts.

Can't and won't speculate on this coming to existing models but it was my understanding that the trucks and other vehicles able to use the OnStar app had a different OnStar module than older models.

I know they're talking about the new head unit having the new on star att internet and app store on 15 models though some sites said the Silverado and other models would get it later, not in 15. Well I noticed on the accessories site the hotspot we can buy says it's for 14/15 Silverados

Maybe so. I asked my dealer (all those years ago) and the parts guy told me they were the same... though he could have just told me that because he didn't feel like looking it up! Oh well, I have the app now with my 2014 (and of course, rarely use it! haha)

It'll be cool. But I doubt our trucks now will be able to use this.

Supposedly there are several new apps coming we can put on our system.

Thanks Moto have been away for a few days and haven't read through everything yet. Looks neat though.

My iPhone updated to 7.1 over the weekend. One of the major upgrades to this OS was the implementation of CarPlay. They state that it will be available for Chevy soon. Has anyone updated their iPhone and notice any changes when synced to your 2014 Silvy or Sierra? Have any you heard of any updates to the truck system to include this?

The current 2014 will not magically become a Carplay system. Carplay is its own infotainment system in itself, my lik MyLink and Intellilink. So a current truck with MyLink or Inteillink will not get the Carplay features. But perhaps in the future if GM decided to put Carplay in the trucks, it will totally replace MyLink or Intellilink as an infotainment system.

Make sense?

Yep! That makes scenes. Looks like the only way to have fully integrated iPhone in your car is go and pick you up a Ferrari or Mercedes. Not a big iPhone fanboy anyway. Have an iPhone from my company and a personal android phone. I think I lean more toward android. I just wish GM would deliver the stereo upgrade we were all promised when we bought our trucks.
