Why you didn't go 3.5"? That's the diameter of the piping. And is the case 22" or total length??

 

I measured the case and it's 22. I just checked, the diameter is 3.5, so good there. My mistake for stating 3 earlier.

Yup, that's the same one I'm looking at along with the 18". I'd really like to "hear" the difference in person, not just on video clips. I think I'll call my exhaust guy and ask him to call me the next time he does a 2014 Silvie or Sierra..... they do a lot of trucks.

With the third cat delete it's not obnoxiously loud, deeper, throatier sounds is more like it.

only bad on that 14" muffler is it is a center offset on the in/out. That means the shop will have to do some pipe bending to work. Main reason I used the 22" offset/center muffler was to keep it a direct R&R on the muffler.

I got the 14" and he did a new 3" pipe after the muffler instead of having a hacked up factory pipe..

Same here. I just want a little more note than the clamp mod I did. LOL And with the tip I have coming it should hopefully look pretty good.

5.3... the exhaust shop did 3.5 all the way back with rez delete.

Cool. So that must be the same muffler that comes with their catback system (which I just got delivered). I was worried it might be too loud but it sounds like it'll be pretty subdued at cruise.

It's not loud at all. I have all 3 cats and no rez and it's pretty tame. I really think that because these trucks are so well insulated, it makes the exhaust note even quieter, as compared to my '13 LT truck. I'm leaning toward letting it grow on me for a while.....
