22" Magnaflow.....

I had the 22" Magnaflow put on my new '14 soon after I bought it. I had the same muffler on my '13 and loved the sound.

As soon as I picked up the truck from the muffler shop, I immediately went back and had them remove the resonator and the "flapper valve"... didn't help much. Still WAY too quiet for my taste.

It still sounds almost stock!

Question..... How many miles will it take for the muffler to "burn in" and get a little more volume to it?

(In only have about 500 miles on the Magnaflow)

Or possibly the smaller Magnaflow would be better???

If you plan on removing 3rd cat, do that first before changing muffler, it will help a little and burn in May take a couple thousand miles.

Had To Tell You But You Probably Gonna Need To Get A Smaller Muffler. Get A 18" Magnaflow. You Be Happier With it.

OK, from the responses, maybe I should go with the 18" or the 14"... I really would like to get this right this time. I've already been to the shop twice... third time's a charm?! :fingersx:

Ok pretty good advice. Loud is not my goal here, just a very nice deep rumble that gets ferocious at WOT. I know what you mean about your hotrod... I've got an LS3 Corvette with Billy Boats and it's LOUD!

Thanks! Bill

With the third cat delete it's not obnoxiously loud, deeper, throatier sounds is more like it.

3" muffler...

Why you didn't go 3.5"? That's the diameter of the piping. And is the case 22" or total length??

Its not really a drastic change. But it will get a bit louder. It will be gradual, so you wont really notice the difference. Over the course of 2-3k miles it should break in nicely.
