Have you Sold/Traded your 2014 Because of Problems?

I'd like to sell my Sierra but I'd lose too much money now. I question it's reliability and I'm really not a fan of the techno-over kill. I didn't ask for or need the My Link screen/system. Just another gimmick to me!

It's broken down once and I was stranded if not for OnStar. The engine compartment reeks of burning anti-freeze yet I have no signs of leaks and I have yet to add any "Dexcool" (I carry a spare jug now) I am so fed up with hearing of yet another recall or two. What is it, every two months now there's something new that's on the recall list?

My Dodge Ram sits in the way but there is no way I'm selling it because I think it's just a matter of time before

this Sierra will let me down and I can't be without a pickup truck.

So as a footnote, yesterday morning was nice and sunny (for a change) so I thought I'd put on my factory tires and chrome 20" wheels on myself (I enjoy this kind of work!) and my winter tires and wheels put away for the season. Now I find out it will cost me $50 bucks to have this tire pressure monitoring system rebooted to work again. Nothing like another twist of the knife.

I really wish it was 2005 again.........

I bought my 2014 Sierra SLT February 2014. After a couple of days I noticed a vibration while fuel management is active. I took it into the shop and they could not find any problems. After another visit and a drive with the service manager they admitted their was a vibration and it is normal, a normal vibration after 1200km?? After several more issues with the truck I was forced to either accept the fact that I just spent 60 k on a piece of junk or trade it for something else. After listing it for private sale and no buyers I traded it in on a gm diesel. I lost about 10k on the trade in since my dealer would not compromise any with me. Issues with vibrations, drivers seat seemed loose during cornering, very poor radio reception in the middle of a city of a million, a funny gurgling coming from the dash while the AC was on etc etc. It is so sad that Gm and Chevy half tonnes are going downhill. I have driven one since 2001, and that was the best truck I have owned. Buyers beware...General Motors can dress up their new trucks all they want, the bottom line is they have made a poor product and their solution is to hand you a life of paper that says " this is normal operation of the vehicle"...or deny that there is a problem...t's an absolute joke in my opinion. I am happy with the diesel I have now but it has taken me a lot of money, time and stress get to this outcome.

Sorry to hear that. Seems as many 1/2 ton owners that have cotton out have done so at a great expense. I got really lucky on my deal and still don't know how I did it.

I think GM is going through a "phase" of crappy quality control and engineering. Our trucks will never be perfect, but I don't see this many issues on the new Dodge Rams and Fords, and even the Crapotas. I like a few others will not get me a new GM truck until they improve things. If they improve things. I kinda get the impression that GM is in for a long slow recession, and soon. Not just because of the issues being talked about on here. Thankfully there are plenty of prior generation GM Trucks for me to consider when I soon consider a purchase of another one, but if I had to buy a new truck now? I couldn't trust GM. And that kills me to say that. It would either be Dodge or Ford..

i seem to be having the same issue with this, even when i lowered it with the belltech kit its barely noticeable around 50mph than goes away

crap i have that same problem light vibration on startup but after a few miles it goes away. The tires will not get flat spots after sitting overnight will they?

GMT 800 FTW

I was always the same way, owned a couple but this LMM is nice too. Basically the same truck, just different interior and exterior...

I should show you a picture of the rust under a 2013 last fall on a brand new dodge ram. Sitting on the showroom floor, might change your mind and towards ford at least.

i'm sure somewhere out there there is rust underneath the bottom of a new Silverado or Sierra or Tundra or F150 or Titan. No offense.

I put 305/50R20 Hancook Dynapro ATm's on and wow do they make a difference. .. a BIG difference!

This is a very good question I have been a true General Motors buyer since 1985. I have purchased new every couple of years and this is my 3rd Sierra since 2007. I love the truck but the problems and it sitting in the shop have me thinking about switching to Ford. I can't believe I even said that but this truck while it has many great features, is having several problems. I purchased it in February and I haven't had it in my driveway for two consecutive weeks yet. I just got it back yesterday for an UNFIXED vibration that they say they can't fix. Totally sucks and I will lose several thousand dollars trading so I might be stuck for a little while. $41K and they say its within acceptable tolerances, are you kidding me?

EVERY Ford my family has had has been nothing but problems.

My2010 Camaro SS, My mom's Caddy, my wife's Vue and, before that, L200 have been great, as was my '02 Silverado and my current '14 SIlverado, not to mention my dad's Malibu. Those are just off the top of my head.

Have seen several F150's with rust on the frame & rear end. Had some photos at various points, but have deleted them.

So this is NOT just a GM issue.

As far as the recalls go, can imagine GM is going to recall the smallest of details after this ignition deal.

Heck just saw crap for the new Impala based on ONE person passing blame on a rental car accident.

I saw my first 14 truck for 2 days on the lot and they sold it again. At least I had most of the problems fixed except the vibration... I feel bad for whoever bought it
