I emailed Toyo about the RT sizes, they said early 2015 for new sizes but couldn't divulge what sizes specifically they were going to release. One of em just better be 295/55/20 lol. Should cost around 330$ a tire new, seeing as how 33x12.5x20 are 350$.

on that note, i sent BFG a message and they are releasing more sizes of the KO2 in early 2015...but i dont know what they consider early...

i specifically asked about 285/60/20

did anyone see if someone is riding on a 305 wide tire?

im starting to consider 305/55/20 duratracs which is 33.2"/12.01"/20 and i know 295/55/20 fits with a 2.5" lift running zero offsets.

Can someone explain to me what offset means exactly? I don't feel I have a good grasp on it.

For instance, I am considering a 20x9 fuel maverick. I believe these come in +20, +14, and +1. With either a 33 or 35" tire.

The offset has to do with where the center of the wheel is, correct? Assuming that is correct, which offset pushes the tires out or keeps em in tight? Or does offset even move tire placement in relation to the vehicle? Is there a significant difference in these options? I'm assuming one of these options is more likely to rub than the others...

Does the +20 push the tires further out than the +1? or the other way around?

Also for comparison, does anyone know what the stock 20" wheel offset is? I remember reading what it was, but can't find it/don't remember.

Lotta questions there, so thanks! One day I will buy a new truck and put all this information to good use!

I'm pretty sure there a guy here running 305's how many ever pages back. Has a white AT with fuel mav's. Looks good.

I dont know what the stock offset is but stock offsets are almost always high offsets to consider. When trying to decide which tire will fit you must also consider offset and width. The higher the offset the further the further in the vehicles wheel wells it will sit. a -12 on 20x9 will obviously sit further in then a -12 on 20x10 or 20x12. The higer the offset the more tire you can put on it to clear the body normally the problem you could run into with higher offset wheels and larger tires is they might clear the body but hit the frame of suspension. Opposite for negative offsets. the more negative you would clear your suspension and frame but could hit the body alot.

you can run a 305 all day long on these trucks with a 2.5 as long as your wheel has a higer offset like a +20 or stock something like that. you could go a little lower on the offset if your will to trim a lil. Nice thing about the 14s is they will fit more tire then the 07-13s.

thanks!

i guess i really need to pick my rims first before buying the tires then.

i thought that a lower offset pushes the wheel out giving it a wider stance? so in theroy, wouldnt that make it fit a wider tire?

example: i think i read stock offset is +24, but if i went with a +14 it would be 10mm further out, and a zero ofset would be 24mm further out (wider stance ) than stock

someone correct me if im wrong.

Stock is +26mm so +14 is 12mm further and 0 is 26mm further. More offset can clear a tire from hitting the aarms, but when turning it makes the tire have a longer arc so it can then hit the inside of the fender too.

You're right. The lower the offset the more it will stick out. The problem though is two fold....one the wider you push out the tire the more likely it will rub and a 305 width tire with a +20 offset with a 9 inch wide tire is already at or sticking slightly past the fender. I have Fuel wheels, 9 inches wide with a +20 offset with Nitto Terra Grappler G2 305/50/20 and it fits perfectly. Tire is right at the fender, no rub, no lift or level. I got a little lucky. I was tempted to go +0 and I'm glad I didn't. The tire would of stuck out too far for me.

do you mean 305/55/20? or 50/20??

but where would it contact with a more aggressive offset? it wouldnt be the control arms , sway bar or anything on that side of the wheel (at least not the way im picturing it)

i just found out the wheels i want come n a +15 so thats what im probably going to go with.

my first choice wheel is the Rockstar 2's but dont wantit because it gotten too popular around here and they also list at $400-475 a pop..next Metal mulisha but its $350-400 a wheel.,..the Eagle 050 i can get for $200 a wheel and i really like it

so right now it looks like im going to go with Eagle 050 black +15 offset with 2.5" RC level and 285/60/20 Duratracs unless you confirm 305/55/20 then i may go with that.

Really curious how you like that nitto....how is it on ice? and dry highway?

I have a 2014 Silverado Crew Cab (LTZ /Z71) with the stock 18" rims. (18x8.5 with 24mm offset). I am planing on a 2" front lift to leave me some rake, or coud go to 2.5" if need be. I want to get upgrade my tires ad keep stocks and looking at Cooper S/T MAXX 285/65-18 (32.8x11.8) and was wondering if I would have any rubbing issues? I know the 275/70-18 Cooper's fit (33.39x11.1), just wasn't sure if I went wider if I would have an issue.

you could make the 305 work with a +15 you just may have to do a lil plastic trimming. The Nitto Terras are great tires. They would be my first choice in an AT but I run MTs. Also you might want to look at the tire specs individually. A 305 nitto wont spec out at what a 305 cooper of bfg will for instance. even though they are the same size they may spec out slightly diffrent. some brands run biiger or smaller than others. you really see this when you get into a 35x12.50 size. so look into that as well. It might only be like 2 tenths of an inch diffrence but that could be a diffrence in rubbing or not. It all boils down to what how bad you want a certain wheel and tire set up vs how much your willing to trim. Me for instance willing to trim plastic is fine trimming metal is where i draw the line but everyone has theyre preference.

They are different parts. The 1500 steps and the 2500 steps are not interchangeable. They have different part numbers on the AMP webpage.

I think it has to do with the DEF tank on the pass side. The steps can't tuck under like the non def trucks
