Whats the road noise like compared to the KO2?

I would say maybe a little louder on the highway, but even then I found myself really trying to notice a difference.

Also this tire is much wider than my KO2s, so going to hum just a bit more I would think. Still yet to drive them off-road or uphill gravel but looking forward to comparing [emoji41]

New member to this forum, but I've spent a lot of time looking at this thread in particular trying to figure out if my intended setup will work.

I'm trying to figure out how much of an offset I can have with my 2014 silverado with a 2" leveling kit. Planning for 275/70/18 tires and 18x9 wheels.

I would like to go at least 0 offset, but -6 to -12 would be preferred. I would be ok with shaving plastic or zip tying the wheel wells back, but do not want to do the nor cal mod.

Anyone running a 2" leveling kit with 275/70/18 and 0 or negative offset on a 2014+?

Thanks a ton!

I was running 275/65/20 on 20x9 0 offset. So same width as what you're looking to do but your tires are about .75" shorter. I cleared no problem on the fender but did have to trim a bit of carpet liner

I am running 2.5" level but I don't see you having any issues with 0 offset or -6 but 12 could be pushing it. The extra offset or width of the tire is what could cause issues rubbing on the fender but you wouldn't have to go as far as norcal

Awesome, thanks. Truck looks good.

Anyone else running the 2" leveling kit, 275/70/18 and a 0 or negative offset?

I have the GM 22" SEW rims on my 15 High Country, Does anyone know if these rims have the "pockets" on the back to allow for 1.5" spacers without trimming the studs. Or do I need to run a 1.75" spacer to avoid trimming? f4510c4d75d0a72e3d180b36ce228402.jpg

1.75" level, 18x9 +12 offset Black Rhino Lucerne w/ 275/65/18 Mastercraft Courser AXT. New, the tires measured exactly 32"x11.5" on these wheels. Next time, I plan to go with 285/65/18 BFG KO2 or 295/65/18 Duratrac.

I'm not running the exact setup that you're looking at but I can share my experience thus far. First go around was 2" level with 285 65 18 toyo at II's on 18x9 raceline wheels with -6 offset had the slightest rub at full lock in reverse coming down out of the driveway. Second setup 2 " level with 285 65 18 toyos on 18x9 fuels with -12 offset. Rubbed at full lock but would have been fine just zip tying the liner back but I raised the front up another 1/2" and it helped but still rubbed coming down out of the driveway at full lock in reverse. Current setup is 4-1/2" lift in the front and 3" in the rear. Same tires and wheels no rubbing in any situation, unfortunately the 285 65's now look to small so I'm going to try and fit some 305 65 18's in there.

Now the tire you're looking at is 33-1/8" od by 10-7/8" wide. The tires I have are 32-5/8" od by 11-1/4" wide the difference in width on the 275 is only 3/16" of an inch and height is 1/4". the being said your experience should be the same as mine for the various offsets. Although; all these trucks are different and what clears on some doesn't clear on others due to trim packages and what not. Example a 2 inch lift on my z71 4x4 was a true 2" lift using the rancho quicklift. My buddy has the same truck (year, trim, color blah blah blah) only difference its a 4x4 with max tow. 2 inch quick lift on his truck only raised it up 1-5/8". So we compared the length of the factory struts and the black struts are about 3/8" longer than the factory Ranchos on the Z71. The point is, if you're doing a leveling kit that's a spacer as opposed to replacing the strut the clearance you will have depends on the factory struts in the truck and I think there is at least 3 variations, this is the main reason what clears on some doesn't clear on others even though they have the same 2 inch kit from RC. Hopefully this helps.

Thank you!

It really comes down to price. I found the Nittos for $279/tire

The Toyos were $312 and RTs where $330

Where? Online hopefully?

im not much of an auto guy at all so excuse any newb idea/question/sentence i have coming up ..

Looking to upgrade tires and wheels. I have seen lots posts with a certain few brands Nitto, Cooper, Toyo and some BFG. Which of these 4 would give me the best for my buck in what im looking for.

I do not do any off roading at all, if anything maybe drive through an open field with a few hills at most. I will be towing a boat during summer (idk specific size yet but not huge). I know they wont be as quiet as these stock tires but something thats not annoying/loud. Also im in Montana so winter conditions last for about 5-6 months so really good performance on snow is key and as well as dry hot pavement. I do more "city" driving than anything.

My inital choice is Terra Grappler, followed by Open Country AT, KO2, Discoverer AT. I love the look of the Terra Grappler. Oh and for size Im looking for 295/55R22 but having hard time findin that in any of these brands. Other sizes considered 285/55R22, 285/55R20, 305/50R20 (these would prob rub, i dont want rubbing). Plan on installing a 2" level kit as well, do I need to add blocks in the rear? Going 2" because i dont want to sit nose high when towing.

Ok thats a lot to process but thanks in advance ive been reading posts and see you guys give great advice to others, hoping I can be lead in the right direction.

The best choice for your needs is the Michelin LTX, but it's not very aggressive looking.

Look at the Pro Comp Extreme AT. IMO, the best looking AT on the market. Good luck finding any...and pricey.

TG2 are an OK choice. I've got them. Horrible on wet roads. Horrible in mud. No noise. To me, not very aggressive.

Toyo OCs. Lotta guys running them. The Extremes look the best. More aggressive than the TG2s.

KO2. Best tire I've had for all conditions except clay. Tend to run narrow.

Discoverer AT. The other three choices are better, but all of them are going to look "tame" on your truck.

Also, take a look at the Falken ATW3. Darn good looking tire.

For something more aggressive, look at the Cooper STT Pro or the Wrangler Duratrac.

To each their own, but 22s and 20s just don't look good on a 4x4 unless you're running 35s or better. 17 and 18s give that beefy look when running 33" and under.

2" level will limit you to 285s or less if you don't want ANY rubbing. Whether you have the rear block in or not, you are going to squat if you tow anything with any sort of tongue weight. I'm running Firestone RideRite Air Bags in the rear and now that I have them, I couldn't imagine towing with them.

Thanks for the input .. ive spent the last 3 nights or so doing a lot of reading trying to find opinions from guys running all these tires on various forums no matter the vehicle (just to get a general pic) ... Good friend of mine actually recommended duratracs and i have read a ton of good reviews today about them. The ebay deal I have been watching actually has them in stock at 285/60R20

did a google search on duratrac with that size and it returned a decent amount of pics that i was able to get a feel of how my truck would look with them. I may be sold i just dont know what wheels i want, i like street looking lol but with a true truck tire it may look just all bad

Sams has best price on Duratrac. Get a quote from them, then take it to your dealer to price match. I got the 295 Duratrac down to $265 a tire with GM running a Goodyear rebate in April. I didn't buy them, but it was a dry run for when I do. Best to buy at the dealer and have them mount and road balance so they can't blame anything wrong with the truck on tires you bought from the "other guy".

we have a costco here .. i dropped the ball on calling around town today damnit ... the ebay deal ends today. It was discount tire directs ebay store that was doing it. $50 off $300 so was going to buy them 1 at a time for $314 a pop. Seems like they do this deal often so i'll see if i can get some price matching going. Will call costco and walmart for sure because they both have them in stock here.
