Hello people,

I have the Kicker sub-only for sale for the '07-'13 1500, '07-'14 HD crew cabs. I bought this used, it works fine, but it doesn't fit my '15 HD, although GM & Kicker part #'s suggest that. Anyhow, I'm looking to get $400 shipped OBO, to lower 48. Please message me, or you can call 406-439-4276, I'm in Montana.

 

P.S. I'm buying the correct sub & I'll include the new, uninstalled harness with this used unit. Hit me up or call with any ?'s, thanks!...Bob

Do you realize that you're posting this in the 2014+ thread which would also be the wrong part for our trucks? You should post this in the forum for the older body style.

So I want the sub amp kit and reading online it says not compatible with Bose OR MYLINK systems. I have an LT with mylink and no Bose. Dealership I called said this was correct. So anyone here install the kicker sub and amp with the 8 inch mylink system and if so, does it work perfectly fine?

There is two kits available. One includes a sub and an external amp, this is the one you will need since you do not have Bose. The other is just a Sub with amp attached to it, which is compatible with Bose and the one i have installed on my Sierra with Bose

It's not a big deal. I was just trying to help you out. Not many people intentionally want to buy the wrong sub, so I was just saying that you'd probably have better luck in the other forum.

To directly answer your question is Yes. If you have an 8" mylink without bose this is the correct system for you.

I just ordered the complete system amp and sub for my 2014 Silverado crew cab LT. I have the 8 inch screen but I do not think I have Bose speakers? Definitely did not have a sub. Is there a way to tell if mine has the Bose system?

 

Anyway, I just tried to install this tonight. It got dark in about an hour so I did not get it completely done, but I hooked everything up real quick just to hear it and nothing is working???

 

I double checked the connections and the fuses and everything seems good. I am hoping this system does not only work with the smaller screen stereos?

Anyone know if this works with the 8 inch screen for sure?

 

Any ideas why it would not be working? I was thinking maybe it is not grounded good enough? I did put the grounds where the instructions said to.

It'll have the Bose logo on the speaker grilles.

yes it definitely works with the 8 inch screen. If you had Bose you would have a sub and would say Bose on the grilles of the speaker. double check that all you connections are good, fuses are in holders at batteries ?, ground? Its plug and play so not much could be wrong.

Question I have is on the instructions, do they tell you how to get the deck face plate or surrounding trim off, as I am really not wanting to figure that out the hard way and breaking something or some tabs.

 

Another question, for those who paid to have it installed. How long did it take a Audio Shop or Dealer to install, and how much did they charge?

I don't think you'll have to pull the trim off around the the face plate.

 

I had the dealer install mine, filling the GM Accessories website for price installed. Dealership never did one before mine so it was a learning curve. It took them about 4 hours but I only had to pay for an hour.

Kicker emailed me install instructions. Doesn't look too bad, but you do have to take the trim off around the radio.

Yes the radio comes out because you have to plug in a harness behind it. It's easy enough to do. The biggest pain is fishing the power wires through the firewall

      I am guessing that engines of that design back then had a better ability to be abused and survive longer than a new design engine with the long timing chain and the overhead cams and phasers etc. But I would never guess that an engine could go that far and not fail spectacularly or at least die a slow death.

      In the 80's 90's I'd run Honda's 7,500 miles between changes using Red Line HP 5W20 and do it for hundreds of thousands of miles with issues. Back in the day it was an SAE 20 with the HTHS of a SAE 30 and SN add load. It was also very polar. Oxidation VOA was over 120. Besides those motors were SPFI and lean burn tech. I could have likely run it longer but never did.    We had a Toyota bought new I ran on Pennzoil's latest and greatest synthetic of the day with "Penthane". A made up word for a very low dose of PAO. Tried 7,500 mile OCI's in that Group III/VI chemistry and the rings tapped out at 90K. Rocker box wasn't as bad as the one Punch put up but it wasn't good either. Also a SPFI motor.    I'm around 3,750 across the board on these GDI monsters and the oil it tapped out by then usually on TBN/TAN crossover and color. Red Line HP Euro.    The AMSOIL SS brochures tell you to follow the OEM values for the service class but that it can be run up to 25K if monitored. I can't imagine what motor could go that distance and not tap out. I've never owned one.    Yes, I know. Lot's of people do. I'm just not going to be one of them.

      I knew a guy in the early 80's that bought a new Monte Carlo and ran it a 100,000 miles without ever changing the filter or the oil. Just kept adding. It looked like that inside.

      Good evening. I was lucky enough to get passed down to me a 2007 GMC LBZ that was my great uncle's. While the underside and rockers are more or less gone I feel like with time I can restore it to working order since it only has 110,000 miles and he put nearly every option he could get without getting the new body style since he did not trust DEF. So far I have done everything I can think of but when I put the key into the ignition nothing happens. I put 2 brand new batteries in it. Cleaned the terminals. Check all the fuses and relays and they all pass with my multimeter. I know I'm missing something that I just cant think of. The only odd thing is the OBD2 port works which makes me think its not the mega fuse. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Looks nice. I still have my 2000, 1500. Bought a 2025, 1500 for retirement. Feels solid. These trucks have a bad rap on the internet. My brother has a `24 1500, 5.3 with 52,000 miles. No problems at all. Mine hasn`t either but mine`s only at 12,700 miles. Have seen some of these things with 100,000 miles with no problems.
