PF63-PF48 Interchangability

The only reason I would now is the Hastings PF63 filter equivalent is more efficient than the PF48. Take a look at that table. I've ordered both of the Hastings filters (PF48 and PF63 equivalent) to cut open just for hahas. However, as I have mentioned previously, whichever way I choose to go it may well be a Hastings just because they are so responsive to their customers. For a representative of a corporation to say: "It is our practice to recommend the use of our products as they are listed by application. Nonetheless, as these filters are made today, the LF641 will offer a slightly better efficiency if used in place of the LF613" is an absolute breath of fresh air. That and including that table sold me. Here is a company that deals exclusively with filtration, and it shows.

Would appreciate ALL comments both pro and con.

I am thinking about going to the PF63 on my 2013 Yukon Denali.

The dealer tells me, "as long as it is a AC Delco oil filter, it will not void the factory warranty"

Thanks in advance.

AC Delco has nothing to do with it. Dealer cannot disavow warranty if using another brand. That is quite clear at the Federal Trade Commission who enforces the Magnussen/Moss Warranty Act. The only way for them to have any standing in voiding a warranty if you use alternative brand is if they can prove that it in fact caused a problem. Amazing that this warranty act has been law for 40 years and some nincompoop at a dealership still thinks they can set the standard.
