The original builder got in touch with me after his buddy saw it for sale at cruise night. He said it ran low 10s

 

....and confirmed what StraubTechnologies said: new custom tailored cam would add 100HP at the wheels.

 

Maybe I should go Hellcat hunting....

......So my engine was built for 91, builder told me to only put race gas if I add a big shot of Nitrous. And I'm pretty sure the sentence he used was "It'll run 10.17s all day long the way it sits". :O

 

 

Suddenly I want to..... Get that extra 100HP cam, and add 100-150 shot of happy gas.

The local collector sent me a message at 11pm, but my phone died and I had left it in another room. I responded at 12:34 am hopefully I didnt wake him up(as I said, was told the guyvhas little spare time)

 

Want to see the SL550.

 

The German collector thinks his friend will contact me tomorrow, it was a German Holiday, thats why he thinks he didnt respond.

1.) Going to the Midnight Drag's. Bought a new Snell approved Bell helmet today.

 

2.) Guy finally called, 5 hours aftter we werw supposed TO MEET. And he thinks his 90,000 mile 2007 SL550 is worth $29,000.

 

 

Go look it up on EVERY value site. Go look up similar cars for sale on AutoTrader.

There are several very nice lower mileage ones for cheaper.

 

Then report back with the proper similey.

 

He said it has just had the ABC system serviced(big plus), along with $400 of little things(which can be ONE little thing on an SL series car) and a fresh Mobil 1 oil change. He claims it is EXCELLENT. Even so, we are still about 5K apart in my mind. I have less mile, newer SL550's, in near perfect condition for $30~ within a few hundred miles, at dealers.

 

I told him I'll probably look it over, but unless he realizes what the real market is on his car, its a no go.

 

 

Talked to the German, then didn't hear from the German. Whatever, that's done, you can claim to be serious but when you fail to contact me several times, I don't care anymore.
