Firearms owners....Be sure to know your gun friendly States!

Some CA jurisdictions started issueing CCWs. Since they can no longer make you "justify" the need for a CCW, I'm guessing you have to provide a stool sample or something now. I'll find out more in a few months. The guy I'm training at work has applied and received an interview date.

You no longer have to justify??

It depends on the area. Some of the northern/inner (non-socialist) parts of the state have essentially been shall issue for years. Eventually that'll be the rule statewide as I understand it. As for how long it takes, no idea. I've written off Commiefornia. I'll never visit that dump outside of work because even if/once this does pass they won't honor other states. So they won't get my tourist money.

Hey I answered the question. I'm allowed to insult the place as long as I actually answer it right?

Everybody loves to trash California. But they're happy to take our tax revenues from the second largest economy in the country to subsidize their roads, farmers, utilities, auto makers and poor. California is the largest economy in the US if you take the federal government out of the comparison. $2 trillion or about 5 times Michigan. California grows more crops than it uses as most of the land is ag or forest.

Mike

it seems like boycotting a state because they won't let you tote a gun and you dont like their political majority is a fanatical over reaction. So you don't trade at businesses that are posted no guns? Do you fly through federally controlled airports?Do you carry at work? When you reprepresent your company while visiting another do you carry?

Just reading this title, it strikes me that it's more important know which states are 'unfriendly' than friendly.

Posted

It's VERY important ... because if you go to an unfriendly state with your firearm, you can do some SERIOUS time!

Shouldn't be any damn restrictions on a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to begin with .... but that's another topic for another day! :banghead:

California has nothing I want to see or experience. The fact their gun laws and politics do not mesh with mine is just another reason to stay away. I've been there plenty due to work. It's got nice places but overall it's just an over crowded, expensive mess.

As for the rest- Yes I do fly but federal laws are federal laws- it's not like state gun laws. If I just had to spend some time on a west coast beach I can go to Washington and still carry. CA and OR have stricter laws so I'll avoid spending my money there. But 99% of my flying is for work, I generally fly for personal trips once per year since I moved. This year it'll be twice barring anything unplanned. That isn't so much because I take issue with not being armed in airports, it's just because flying sucks. I did it almost weekly for 5 years and got a front row seat to witness the race to the bottom that airlines are currently in when it comes to customer satisfaction. The drive back to NH is 900 miles and as long as I'll be there at least a week I'll always take driving over flying. 15 or so easy hours in the truck is much better than the unpleasantness of being on a plane.

I don't do business with places that are posted. I've even emailed a few to explain why I won't be darkening their doors.

I follow my employer's policy on firearms both when they have me at the NH office and when I'm on the road.

There's something we agree on...airlines racing to lower customer satisfaction. It's about pricing. I work with airlines daily. Not the marketing people, but the engineering types. I know they are in competition to stay financially afloat. All that seems to matter to the masses is the lowest price. Now they are getting what they asked for. ...and nothing else.

I'll say this. On it's face these officers should have had more sense. Discretion is key here. But given media sensationalism and slanted reporting (think Michael Brown), maybe....just maybe there is a little more to the story here. Either way as a responsible, licensed, gun owner she should know the laws.

Also, I would be really worried about having the same laws across all states. Take a look at our federal government and that should make most of us want to hold on to what we have.

I agree .. BUT .... driving a motor vehicle is not a RIGHT, and yet my MA driver's license is valid in all 50 states ...

Should be no different with firearms. The Constitution is SUPPOSED to be valid in all 50 ...

Heh but I'd be ok with most red and white license plates being barred from NH.

Your DL being accepted is not a fed thing, it's an agreement between the states. You also have to remember that each state holds true to 2 Constitutions, the federal and the State. As such the states are essentially free to regulate whatever the US Constitution doesn't explicitly grant to the feds. Well that's how it's supposed to work, in reality the states give into fed black mailing and ransom tactics.

Oh and also concealed carry has been deemed a privilege by the Supreme Court so yeah.. Take that however you want.

Where did you read this? The fact that gun ownership is a right (as decided by the SC) is why IL and now DC have been forced to pass carry laws.
