I'm so happy...........

I'm so happy I bought my 2014 Silverado before joining this group and reading about all the problems. I have bought several new trucks and had a 2013 that I liked a lot and traded it for the 2014. I love the new truck, it rides great, runs great, looks great and is so quiet. If I had read about all the issues people are having, I would never have bought it. It's a 9/2013 build and so far, so good, but I've only owned it for 2 months. The FM reception is not as good as my other trucks, but I rarely listen to FM. I wouldn't mind having the lighted circles around my radio dials, but a very minor thing for me. I only use E85 and the fuel economy is still pretty good. By the way, I love this group, very friendly and so far I've found an answer for every question after a search.

"All the problems" are highly intensified by this forum. Because this is a group of enthusiasts, everything is a big deal and it becomes contagious. I would be the same way if mine had problems. :fume:

I've always said that the issues that people are having with their 14's are real, but it may only be 10-15%. I still believe that 85-90% of these truck owners have no complaints whatsoever.

I'm one of them. 100% satisfied with not one issue.

Curiously, not asking specific numbers, how did trading the 2013 go? Would assume with the volume of new ones that sold, that trade may hurt?

Though I did look up private party value on mine & if I could get what is stated, it would be sold. Not that there is a issue with the truck what so ever, but would be a very minimal loss.

I don't mind telling you, I had a 2013 LT extended cab, I emailed the 4 biggest dealers within 100 miles for bids. I sent them all pics of the truck and the VIN. The bids to trade trucks ranged from $9400 to $3100 for almost exactly the same equipped truck. I had $1500 from my GM card and when I was researching on Chevrolet.com there was a coupon for $1000 off a new Silverado. (The coupon expired June30). Of course I went with the $3100 bid and with my $2500 off, I traded for $600. After document fees and tax, it was $920 out the door. I trade a lot and it was the best deal I ever received. I'm sure part of the deal was the truck had been on their lot for 10 months and it's a double cab. They also let me keep my tonneau cover and bed mat. I also did the deal the last day of the month. Hope this helps.

you were offered 9400 and took 3100?

That is trade price.

yea, that's what I mean, did they offer you 9400 trade in and you took 3100? or are you saying the total out of pocket with the purchase was a difference of 3100 that makes more sense.

One dealer wanted 9400 to trade trucks and one dealer wanted 3100 to trade trucks.

What's funny is, my brother in law just traded for a 2014 Silverado and couldn't make a deal where I bought from.

Sounds like a great trade to me! Enjoy it and down't worry about all the ninny shit people bitch about on here. This forum will make you think every single 14 has problems and they don't.

Was the 2013 an LTZ and the new one an LT or something? If they were the same trim level you got an insane deal! Wish I could trade for a new truck every year for only $1k.

I like mine so much I traded it on another new one:) First one has 70,000km's no real issues.

I too have no complaints with my '14 GMC Sierra.
