I have several large paint chips in the fender and roof of my 2014 truck. they are about 3/16" in diameter and down to the metal primer. seems the adhesion of the blue paint is not very good. anyone else have similar issues?

Do you have any pics? That is really not good at all. Be sure to take it back to the dealer to see what they can do to make it right.

Yes, I've noticed how easily it chips also. Already had to touch up four spots. Two on the driver side door and two on the passenger side windshield posts.

Hell ya! I already have more small chips on my '14 than I had on my '02.

And the windshield too!

Thank the EPA for making automakers switch to water based paint. But still, they could add a few more coats for added durability....

I have a few small chips along my front bumper. 1 big one about the size of a dime where the paint is still attached but I could pretty easily peel it off.

Just found 2 bare spots on my white truck, I spent lots on factory mud flaps and step bars to keep this from happening. Oh well guess I need to go buy a big bottle of touch up paint. I never even heard a rock hit.

Not sure about other states, but in this "great commonwealth" called Pennsylvania, they do this thing called tar and chip. Where they lay a coat of liquid asphalt followed by a layer of road gravel. Pea sized limestone if you will. What a joke. The loose stuff just plain causes havoc with your vehicle. If I have to drive extra distance to avoid the road I will. Unfortunately they did the road I live on and the road my work is on the same damn week. So far,I've got 4 paint chips because of this assnine road maintenance method.

A 17 dollar bottle of touchup paint works wonders for sure!

Ahh I remember those days....not fondly of course. The old tar and chip routine. I was so happy I lived on a dirt road the last few years before I graduated high school...

Yeah I know the stuff, we called it farmers mix in NH though. They stopped using it in my town there but they're using it in MI and doing a crappy job. They did a major road here when it was too cold and it just made a mess. There's still tar on my truck.

Maybe years ago that was true but it's been long enough for paint manufactures to catch up imo, many other makes don't seem to have these weak paint problems that gm is having. Most likely skipped a process to save ten minutes per car or something to that effect to boost production and lessen material uses.

My 05 was held to the same paint standards and I have seen picture's of peoples trucks on here and it's pretty sad at how frail the paint is on these trucks. Maybe it was just a bad batch or something but I literally have 2 tiny chips on the front of my truck in almost ten years worth of driving.

I've had more paint chips on my 14 Silverado in the past 6 months than my 08 sierra had in 5 years.. Very weak paint.. I live in Illinois where the roads are s*** and we got the salt trucks dumping everywhere... But, like stated above got touch up paint to match.. Bud Light and the Touch up brush on a Saturday night is a great combo

It may not be them but paint quality on all new, non-high end brands is absolute crap.
