How do I find out where my 2014 silverado was built and what date

If the vin starts with a 1 its US, if it starts with a 3, its Mexico.

 

I see you have a crew cab, so if it starts with a 1, the 11th digit should be an F (example: 1GCRKSE76EF123456) and would have been built in Flint Assembly, in Flint, Michigan.

 

If its with a 3, the 11th digit will be a G (example: 3GCRKSE76EG123456), and would have been built in Silao Assembly in Silao, Mexico.

 

If you can find one of the customer service reps from GM on the forum, they can take your VIN and get you the details on RPO codes and build dates, or your dealer should be kind enough to do the same.

Send a PM with your VIN # and email to the GM Customer Service account and they will email you the build sheet which tells all of that. I believe it just gave the letter code of the build factory and you just have to look that up, which won't take long.

The sticker in the door will tell you what month and year it was built. It will also say either "manufactured by general motors de mexico" (or something to that affect) and if it was built at Flint, it'll have a little decal in the door that says something like "world class people make world class trucks" and it has the state of Michigan and a UAW logo on it as well.

I found the window sticker says Mexico but says engine and transmission United States. We're all motors and trans built in US? Build date was 2/14

Well, 19's can sometimes be jittery, so your best bet is to sneak up from behind the truck, but off to the side a bit (it may try to suddenly reverse over you), crouching down, and then as you approach the driver's side door, spring up and slap the build sheet onto the window.

 

And that is how you get a build sheet to your truck.

send an email to [email protected] with your vin requesting a copy of your build sheet. should have it emailed to you within a couple business days. if you didn’t buy yours new you can also request a copy of the service records. this will show any service/recalls that was preformed at a stealership.
