You dropped it 3/5 and put on dubs of the first order...no offense but realistically what did you expect?

Welcome aboard. Sharp looking truck. Im going to go out on a limb and guess by lowering truck it has altered the driveline angles enough to give you the vibration on take off.

Trucks going back to shop tomorrow putting OG springs bake in it up front there going to shim the rear.. Going to go with a 2/4 drop and runs some oem reps 22s or 24s the 26 are just to big!

Sounds like that will look better! The 3/5 drop isn't bad. Just don't run that big of rims. Way too big imo. Not sure why they even make rims that incredibly large.

Ps, I'm not that big on dropping or color matching these trucks, but to be completely honest I think you should leave the 3/5 and get black 22s, put on some decent sized low pros and color match your bumpers, grille, and paint the headlights black. Again, I don't like color matching but I think these trucks look bad ass to all ends of the earth all blacked out.

BTW, what did you tint your windshield to? Looks good. I'm getting mine done this Friday. Considering 45% plus a 15% straight brow.

The shaking is because the rear needs pinion shims, its bottoming out because more than likely they didn't remove the bump stops.

Also what rims are those?

I'm on the same page here. Customizing, as often as not, has a downside or problems. It isn't all fun and games. paying for installation of custom equipment sometimes just adds to the frustration and costs. After reading these forums and modifying vehicles for over 40 years, I often ask myself if any of it is worth it.

did they c-channel your frame in the back? If im not mistaken anything more than a 2-4 drop it needs to be c-channeled and if it's not then you prob have only an inch or two of travel before the frame hits the axle.

the vibration is prob because they did not shim the rear end and your pinion angle is off by a lot.

42 years for me, aint learned yet. Yes its worth it.

I like the drop, but not the wheels. 26" is too big, and that design is horrible. 24" is decent, but I think 22" looks the best to balance looks and ride quality. I'd stick with your drop if you can get your problems fixed.

Nice looking truck!

Sounds like the shop cut some corners to me and judging by the Nexen tire banner, thats likely. Most seedy rent-to-own shops that sell super cheap wheels and tires do shotty work.

Anyway. I think the truck looks sick. I've seen a lot of the newer GM trucks and SUVs running 24s and they look to really belong with the new design. So I think 24s would look great. But I like the wheel design. You don't see much in the way of custom trucks on this forum, so don't expect much love.

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
