I'm a little nervous.....

They are picking my truck up this morning for 2 recalls, an oil change and checking out my poor FM reception.

I can understand it, after reading some post on here claiming bad results after the dealer plugs in to the computer. I so far have refused them on the odo recall. Im debating on the next free oil change, I only do it for the free tire rotation. I rather do it myself.

Look your baby over real good BEFORE and AFTER. The plastic bezel was broken during the radio update on my last 2014. Took forever to get another one. Once you get it home... ? Those door dings, scratches, cracked plastic parts are yours. The techs bounce these trucks from bay to bay and to them , its just another job. Look your wheels over if your getting a tire rotation. Just speaking from experience. Good luck. :chevrolet:

I actually did a walk around with my phone and filmed the truck......just in case. :fingersx:

Damage can happen anywhere. Even at home.

Well over a million pickups and fullsize suv's per year, it's not surprising that a few get damaged.

Not any more pleasant if it's you vehicle, but statisically it's going to happen once in a while.

Just go to a reputable dealer and you'll be fine. My dealer is one of the largest around and I took my truck in for an oil change, tire rotation, transfer case recall, airbag recall, and odometer peek in update. Everything went smooth without a hiccup. I dropped the truck off for a 9:30 appointment and it was ready to be picked up around 3 pm. I wouldn't worry too much.

+1

Only issue my Dealer had was they needed a module for the PI1288a radio issue. I had to wait a day, but they were flawless. Real good folks to work with and I got to drive a new loaner truck in the meantime.

Well, they brought the truck back about 5 and everything appears fine. They changed the oil and did 3 updates and reprogramed the radio, but I haven't had a chance to really try it out yet. I guess I worried for nothing.

All good advise. I have scuffed up rims not sure if it was the tire guy or alignment guy. I had to plastidip my wheels.

What bezel did they crack?

That is some service if they will pickup the truck for you and bring it back.

The dealer i worked for picked up numerous cars everyday. Had 2 full time people shuffling cars.

A little hard to see. I noticed it about three miles from the dealer when I was checking the reception after radio update. Tried to wipe away what looked like hair or fuzz and felt the crack. I understand how easy it would be to break this part. But at least they could have said something. I mean they had already had my truck for a full month for other issues. Seems like few people care about taking pride in their job anymore. And yeah I know the radio was on WUSY you guys so keep all the jokes to yourselves LOL.

Glad everything went well! I hate how people have a bad experience at a dealer and assume every tech and dealer is the same. I personally treat every vehicle I work on as if it is my own, along with the rest of the techs that work with me.

And as far as the updates for the trucks, there are very very few that have programming issues, 99% go completely smooth, we have only had one that we needed to disconnect power to the modules and reprogram, nothing to worry about, these dealers would have to fix any issues Anyway if they did arise
