My opinion is that the rear factory Ranchos are too stiff and allow the wheels to skip around any irregular surface in a turn...not to mention the harsh ride. My Bilsteins in my 08 were a nice compromise. I say: loose the Ranchos all the way around.

I never drove another 14 besides this one but compared to my 13 Denali the suspension on this truck is a lot more stiff/jumpy. There is also a whole lot more suspension noise on this truck then my 13.

Yeah. GM is all over the map on their shock damping. Those new 6112 Bilstein shocks sound promising.

I wonder what Bilstein will price them at in respect to all the other coilovers. If they were say 800$ a pair they could do really well with them.

Bilstein has had modest pricing on the street stuff compared to the "boutique" makers like Fox and King. They could capture a big market if they keep them priced right. Realistically, how many street/dirt truck owners would buy a set of Kings if you could get the same convenience and performance for half the price? They'll never capture the bottom feeder market not willing to spend more than $100-200 to level a truck, nor would they want to.

I think you're probably close on the pricing.

it's on some other msg's too, but the Fronts are coming out in Jan. i didn't believe anyone else and called two days ago. Was told they should begin shipping the first week after Jan 1, but most likely it'll be a week or two after. They are going to 2 disty's first, and i lost my paper that had the two names. They recommended buying now, and putting yourself on backorder to ensure you could get the first ones, as they are getting lots of calls. I'll try and call later again, unless i find my notes.

I am tired of waiting, and almost jumped on the procomps, but have since decided against. Too many mixed reviews so i will just wait.. That said i did go ahead and buy my new tires, hope I'll like them ....Terra Grapplers G2's. i know there are better forum reviews on the open country's but, i thought they were pretty comparable and i like the look of the Grapplers a tad better. I have the crappy Goodyear Eagles on there now, so I'm told anything will be an improvement. Going with 275 60's. i don't want them to stick out more than the current 375 55's, and don't think i can go any taller without the lift.

These will take me an inch taller than the GY's. Anyone by chance know though if i get into a Grappler 275 higher tigher without the lift?

(going with the new tires now to save a few bucks as Discount Tire is giving me $130 for each of the GY's while their still basically new.)

Get the Toyo AT2. Better tire than the Nitto. Has a tread wear warranty. Made by the same company. .

The g2's now have a tread warranty, and a bit cheaper. I strongly though about the open country, but just don't understand why so many people like them,, I've talked 5 different people at two different tire places , And gotten mixed reviews when you compare them to the grapplers? So what makes them so much better than the grappler?

Personally if I was going with the 275-60-20 size I would get the Grappler G2's like you have already said. I just put a set of 275-60-20 Toyo AT2's on and like them a lot, however the tread curves in some some the sidewall and they look relatively skinny. The G2's have more of a square blocky tread transition from the sidewall making them look a little wider. For any of the LT sizes I would go with the Toyo hands down, but for the 275-60's I would choose the G2 over the Toyo in the looks department.

Nitto is a division of Toyo. I imagine things change, but the previous grapplers wore much faster than the Toyo's. I got the impression that Toyo was their premium line with Nitto going after the lower end market. Nitto equivalent tires were cheaper than the Toyo.

Correct Spurshot Toyo is the premium line and Nitto sits below it.

Have had 6 vehicles on different sets of AT/AT2/MT's from Toyo.

Good wearing, look and perform very good even if a bit pricey.

FWIW the majority of trucks I see here locally with badly worn tires have Nittos.

Wouldn't spend my money on Nittos regardless of improvements.

Well i wish retailers would follow suite, trail graps are like 350-370 a tire for 295/55/20, Toyo MTs are around the same from what i can find.
