Bilstein has had modest pricing on the street stuff compared to the "boutique" makers like Fox and King. They could capture a big market if they keep them priced right. Realistically, how many street/dirt truck owners would buy a set of Kings if you could get the same convenience and performance for half the price? They'll never capture the bottom feeder market not willing to spend more than $100-200 to level a truck, nor would they want to.

I think you're probably close on the pricing.

i just bought the 2.5RC kit but ill be upgrading to something better in about a year.

the stock suspension really isnt all that bad, but i notice the rear end feels much better (less ridged and doesnt feel like it skips) when there is a little weight in the truck. it just feels like its designed to preform best when the truck is actually being used as a truck. i wonder how it would handle if i added a 1 or 2" rear shock extension which would basically just compress the shock a little, and probably a good idea since im about to add the 2" rear block.

overall i think the truck actually drives and feels really good, but coming from driving a car the last few years i want to add better sway bars first and i would love better brake feel. im completely use to it now but the brakes feel spongy the first little bit you press on the pedal, then all of a sudden the bite more than you would expect. - braided lines would probably do the trick, front and rear.

Is this for real? Are they out?

The other question is..1.8" of lift :( i need 2" at the very least or was hoping for 2.25 honestly.

Some quick digging they are out.

Now the question becomes will a 1.8/2" lift clear 295/55/20s, 305/55/20s, 33x12.5x20s?

just to be sure, with these 5100's, it leaves the rear factory height and only raises the front 1.8" right? and does anything else need to be done as far as the suspension angles and everything else goes in relations to it being raised 1.8"s up front?

The rear shocks say 0"-1" of lift. I'm wanting the rear to stay stock and just lift about 2" with the highest setting on the 5100s. Then hopefully fit 295/55/20 trail graps on.

Suspension angles should be pretty fine right at 2" and under.

5R if I'm not mistaken the 0"-1" means they are designed for trucks with 0 to 1 inch higher back end.

Someone else may chime in if my facts aren't correct.

I was thinking the same after I looked at it again. That they're designed to accommodate the rear with a 0-1" lift

I was told that without any other changes (lift kits), the 5100 leaves the rear at stock height but accommodates rear lifted height of 0-1". "These shocks are for lifted trucks, Jeeps and SUV's. They are designed for specific manufactured lift kits utilizing the stock mounting configuration."

The front are adjustable from 0-1.75". "This specialized class of 5100 shocks are for trucks that have a coil-over-shock suspension design with the spring perch on the shock. These shocks have grooves in the shock body to allow different positions of the spring seat, which will alter the ride height."

I also read that alignment needs to be checked after front shock installation. I plan to keep my truck at stock height, but utilize the ride quality of the 5100s and was told through email with Allshocks.com that the 5100s will work fine. The 4600 rear shocks have been released, but front don't even have an ETA yet. In my application, either 4600 or 5100 rear shock will work. And the front 5100 has a stock setting as well as other adjustment points.

Reading around i read some say that the bilsteins on the highest setting ride pretty rough due to the pre-load on the spring. I wonder if that's why there isn't 2+ of lift on these new ones.

I wonder if I should get the set and have the front end a little higher than the rear. I already have the RC 2.5" kit.....Decisions decisions....My stock shocks are still good, would hate to replace a good set of shocks....

Definitely going to look into getting a set of these for my truck this spring. I've never cared for the Rancho's that come on the All-Terrain... the rears are overly stiff and the fronts seem like they bounce too much.

I just need to fit 295/55/20s. If the Bilsteins don't allow that I'll just be going RC 2.5". The ranchos obviously would be the next choice but I hear mixed things about the quick lift and have no information on the 7000mt.

Then again it might be worth the wait to see how the Bilstein 6112 Coilovers do and what they're priced at. 0-2.5" of lift.

    • Breaking News!    I'm going to tell you that I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I told  you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm about to tell you on the other side of the break.  Then we're going to break. Then I'm not going to tell you what I told you I was going to tell you.  But I'll tell you something else that is Breaking News just coming to the desk that everyone reported on yesterday.  Then I'll tease a human interest telling I'll get to on the other side of a larger break. Then I'll tell you one item in 20 seconds and go back to an even longer break. Longest break of the night.  Then I'll tell you a fluff piece that takes 10 seconds and sign off into a three minute break while you wait for the next 30 minutes of rinse and repeat on the local news.    In al you'll get about 12 minutes of something, 5 minutes of which is worth hearing in a 30 minute show and 18 minutes of advertising at a sound level twice as loud as the news.    Of course you can switch to cable news and hear 12 different people tell the same four stories in much the same format as the Network News for 20 hours of which the majority will be advertising.  And four hours of late night Specials about things you wonder why you stayed up to listen to. Half of which will be repeats.....   OR you can go for a drive
    • Did you ever figure this out? My 2022 Trail Boss, and now my 2026 LT did this from time to time.  I believe it was more connected to Android Auto and my phone being the cause. Maybe try going for a drive, sans cell phone.... and see if it happens?
    • I have a 2026 Silverado LT, the non bose as well.  Upgrading the door speakers is pretty straightforward. You could honestly go to walmart, or Auto Zone/ O Reilly and get a set of 6x9s for the front, and 6.5s for the rear. You do also have to get some adapters for each, but they are like $10 a pair on Amazon. Then some plug and play harnesses that are about $10 a pair on Amazon as well.  And I would also suggest a 10 pack of the Amazon Basics sound deadening. Slap that all around the speakers and on the open metal of the inside of the door. And your golden.   I am currently doing this with my Silverado. Although I am having a bit of trouble because I am snooby I guess and bought some Alpine S2 S69c's which are 2 way components and I am having to wire from the door up to the dash....  Having never installed speakers before, its taking me just a bit to get everything correct. But if you dont buy expensive component speakers, and just some $40-$50 door speakers. You will DRASTICALLY improve the sound over these stock paper cone junk speakers. I thought my Silverado had an issue with the radio/ sound for a while.  Come to find out.  The stock speakers are just THAT SH*TTY   I cannot wait to have some decent sound in the truck   What did you end up doing?
    • Its all automatic based on yaw sensor data.  If enough incline is detected, it engages.   My recommendation though would be to disengage it before driving off and not let it auto disengage by touching the gas pedal.  The HD trucks use the same setup as prior years, the drum in hat park brake.  But now with an electric actuator.  If you drive off repeatedly over time, it can torque the park brake shoes and can also prematurely wear them out.           Electric console shift will set the park brake on flat ground too.  Pretty sure they've got it programmed to activate every time.
