96 350 vortech help

i have a 96 chevy with a 350 vortech it has a heck of a problem at speed with motor cutting in and out i have changed wires,plugs,cap,rotor,tps,mass air flow still to no avail at idle it runs fine and this problem is not constant it just occurs once in awhile any ideas?

i have a 96 chevy 1500 with a 350 vortech my problem is at speed the motor cuts in and out like fuel problem but it does not do it constantly i get good gas mileage no problem there i have done full tune up plugs wire cap rotor put new mass air flow on it new tps at idle and at close to 4500 rpm in park no issues it is just when going down road it does this any further ideas on this matter?

changed fuel filter same time did tune up about a month ago trying to rig fuel pressure gauge now so i can check while driving down road does not do it while at idle

Have you tried doing a brake stand to see if that makes it cut out? If it cuts out doing that it will make it a lot easier to troubleshoot. Take a look at the exhaust flow as well. Partially plugged converter will do what you are describing as well.

think we may have figured it out have a friend with a 97 that was doing exact same thing he changed his coil and coil module his quit doing it i just changed mine out so far so good will see this evening when i have further to drive it thanks for input guys

Take a look at the two wires on the pickup coil where they attach to the pickup coil, chances are one wire is almost broken all the way through. Try pulling on the wire and see if the insulation is actually holding the wire together.

What Doug said happened on my 99, if it was fuel it would be cutting out under load pulling hills.. Etc
