2014 Sierra - Clicking in steering wheel?

Hey guys,

I've got a 2014 Sierra and only thing I've done is add a 2.5" TCG front level. Had it aligned and all seemed fine for a while. I've noticed now that when I'm turning, I get a clicking sound in the steering column. I can't hear anything from outside the truck, but whatever this is can't be normal. I've posted a video to show what I'm talking about. Truck as 6,800 miles on it. Looking for recommendation as to what it might be, and whether or not I should take the level off before taking it in to the dealership. Really don't want to go that route, but don't want to void warranty on any front end parts.

I think this was mentioned in another thread, but I figured I'd start a new one with evidence.

Listen for the faint clicking or popping.

Any chance it's the fob hitting the side of the steering column?

I wish. Can only hear the noise when I'm not moving so keys wouldn't be moving.

I to have this same issue. I created an account so that I could ask if you ever had this fixed? I bought the truck used with 14k miles and it was GM certified. Truck is basically my dream truck. Today after a 45 minute highway ride I pulled into my driveway and noticed the sound. As you mentioned before, while I am physically driving the truck and going around turns it is not noticeable. How ever at a stop, just like in your video it's present.

I also have a pro comp 2.25 level kit that was installed last Tuesday at 4wheel parts here in Orlando Florida. It was perfect when I left the shop and hasn't made a peep until today which sucks and is freaking me out since I just traded in my lemon ram 1500 for this truck.

Any help would be great peace of mind for me. Thanks in advance!

I got under the truck and had a buddy go from full lock to full lock. I couldn't pin point it with out taking the skid plate off. You can feel it click when you hold on to the steering shaft and also on the sway bar or I guess you would call them tie rods? Basically the bars that are moving when steering is in motion. I set up a service appointment for Wednesday at 9 to look at this and a few other items.

My 15 All Terrain is doing the same thing. it started at 6800 miles. Dealer said its a bearing in the steering column. They had a 15 denali doing it and they replaced the column and it stopped. Mines going in Monday to be replaced. Ill be out of town so I wont get it back until Friday. Ill report back after complete.

My 2014 has done this 3 times now after they fixed it 2 times. Stay tuned. Back at dealer now.

FYI it only does it when the car is warm or you have been driving for an hour or so. Little small trips to here and groceries will not bring that clicking out.

Just dropped the truck off at the dealership today for maintenance etc, but this will be addressed as well. I'll let you guys know how I come out.
