Whats with the hate? Ford makes a great truck tbh

lets see here: Ford's latest truck has VERY Complicated Turbocharged Direct Injected Engines, with EXTREMELY Expensive Parts, its body is made of a material that is only normally used by High End Automakers, which means Body Shops with the tools and training to repair the aformentioned material PROPERLY, are VERY Few and Far in Between, which again, drives up Repair Costs SIGNIFICANTLY, and the front end look like Ford Raided the Dumpsters behind the Toyota Technical Center in York Charter Township, MI!

'Too complicated' is both subjective and an argument from personal incredulity, a logical fallacy.

Extremely expensive parts is broad, and again subjective. Have you sourced dealer parts lately? Anything can be expensive. This does nothing to detract from the quality of the vehicle.

Being made from aluminium is a step forward and seeing it as something to be feared is classic 'change anxiety'. Yes it's new and scary, but don't use that as a strike against something that has been used by some of the finest automakers in the world because of it's robust advantages.

Overall your argument against Ford is very poor and you're much better off saying 'I don't like them.' It's honest, genuine and isn't formed on fallacies and ad hominem attacks.

a Set of Turbos for the 2013 EgoBoost is $1460! and that's from Ford's OFFICIAL Parts Website. you're probably looking at another $1000-1500 in Labor; the Engine itself is EIGHT GRAND! that's $2,000 MORE then the BLUE BOOK VALUE of My 4 Year Old Aveo!

What do you think a new 6.2 costs?

And how much do you expect turbos to cost? 780$ per turbo isn't overly expensive.

And labour is labour, its the same at any dealership. You're paying for a well trained person to work on your vehicle and he's just trying to make ends meat for his family. I will gladly pay good money for quality workmanship and parts, thank you very much.

An new engine is expensive, yes. What point are you trying to make?

And about your aveo, I'm sorry your korean car doesn't hold value. Maybe next time try buying american?

if you said what you just said on the Aveo Forums, you would have likely been BANNED IMMEDIATELY.

That's cute but I don't post on Aveo forums. I drive trucks and ride sportbikes.

Do you feel big when you post in ALL CAPS?

Takes a pretty small mind to hate an entire automaker. Everyone makes great vehicles and everyone makes lemons. Facts of life.

Posted

Ford tends to overcomplicate things that don't need to be. Doesn't make them bad I guess just less desirable to some I suppose.

Nothing really, just trying to get a rise out of Mr. Sensitive lol. I'm a Canadian and I ride Japanese sportbikes that I haul in my American trucks, and I have both a Ford and GM. They're both great.

The proof is, generally, in the pudding. Ford outsells GM trucks by a wide margin, and they aren't any cheaper.

Source?

Who needs a source? DOHC engines are the first thing that come to mind. Ever work on one? They're a mess. It's not like they make a ton of more power compared to GM or Dodge's engine designs so I really don't see the need for the over complicated design? There's also the two piece spark plug design. All kinds of issues with that one.
