Having had a few sets of Bilsteins, including 5100 height adjustables in my 2008, and having one set of Rancho (OEM) shocks, I would go with the Bilsteins. No comparison. The Bilsteins have more sophisticated damping curves and much better ride quality.

I haven't had the Quick Lift Loaded adjustable damping shocks. Someone said they liked them.

Just an FYI the real Rancho shocks are nothing like factory ones. The factory ones are a massed produced shock with a Rancho sticker on them, probably mostly for marketing purposes. It's like the factory Toyota Bilsteins........if people bought those through Bilstein I don't think there would be many people on here praising them. :)

I don't know anything about Toyota OEM Bilsteins. Just the Bilsteins I bought and installed. I qualified my experience with both brands so the OP can weigh the information.

I only see part numbers for the rears on bilsteins website. My truck is 4wd with 6.2L maybe that is why....i did a search for 24-238304 and that part number doesn't exist. Can anyone shed some light??

If you want 2" of front lift instead of 1.8", put another couple psi in the front tires...or maybe get rid of those LED bulbs you put in. I hear LED is heavy. smiley_quickdraw.gif

I ordered a set of 5100's (front and rear) from Allshocks.com for $385.80 with free shipping and no taxes to Texas. I was interested in the 4600's and a recommendation between 5100 and 4600/HD since I am not going to lift my truck. In this particular case, the lowest ride height setting of the 5100 series front shocks will keep the truck at stock ride height, and will work fine for what I am doing, so what they recommend depends more on my timeframe than anything else. Bilstein does not currently have an ETA on the 4600/HD front shocks, and they guess that it will be several months before the HD fronts are released for sale. Though HD's would be the ideal choice for what I am using the truck for, the lack of availability is a problem. So they recommend the 5100 series shocks for both the front and the rear.

Allshocks.com also told me that the 4600/HD rear shocks and 5100 front shocks were on backorder from Bilstein since they shut down for the holidays. I placed an order anyway...I received another email today that their order came in yesterday afternoon and have already shipped them!

So, for those of you who are waiting for product, Allshocks.com has 5100's in stock, $385.80 complete front and rear, no shipping, no taxes (check your local state on their web page).

Part Numbers are:

Front 24-238304

Rear 33-238319

just to be sure, with these 5100's, it leaves the rear factory height and only raises the front 1.8" right? and does anything else need to be done as far as the suspension angles and everything else goes in relations to it being raised 1.8"s up front?
