On a 20x9 rim with a 0 offset wheel, a 285/65/20 is actually 34.6" x 11.2" (Nitto Terra Grappler might be slightly wider because...Nitto). A 295/60/20 is 33.9" x 11.6" So, the 295 tire is wider. Also, the 285 tire is close to a 35" tall tire and I'd think you'd have a hard time fitting that on a 4" lift. That being said, I've seen it done, just have to pick the right offset and perform some trimming to make it fit.

I wish they made that size in a BFG KO.. I agree 34.6 is pushing it.. I have seen it done also, and from certain angles the tire just looks to big under the fender.. not much gap..

I would think at least a 2.5" front level and a block in the back. Put some meats on it and call it done.

A lift block. Factory k2's have a 1 inch block from the factory. You can get bigger blocks to put in there. They go between the leaf spring and axle saddle

So what would be the purpose of adding a bigger one? Wheel clearance? Would it throw off the level?

You can remove the block to bring the rear down if you dont want to do a leveling kit or dont need extra height, or if you leveled for height you can add a taller one to get some of the rake back

i love when people talk crap about 2wd trucks lifted. my 2wd is a pavement princess, i have no shame in my game. i like my truck not scratched and destroyed. the reason i think it is entertaining is because most people who have lifted 4wd trucks talk down, and yet their lifted 4wd is a pavement princess all the same as mine.

lets be honest, most people arent going to drop 40-60k on one of these truck and then take it legitimate offroading.

i love when people talk crap about 2wd trucks lifted. my 2wd is a pavement princess, i have no shame in my game. i like my truck not scratched and destroyed. the reason i think it is entertaining is because most people who have lifted 4wd trucks talk down, and yet their lifted 4wd is a pavement princess all the same as mine.

I personally don't like a lifted 2wd, not because I don't get it, I just don't see much point unless it's for looks as you say or if it's a pre-runner style project. Leveling it isn't bad though. I myself will not take my first brand new $40K truck in the mud, but don't mind it getting dirty from a dirt or gravel road. I guess it took getting a brand new truck to want to take care of it. So because of that I see no point in lifting my '14. I got a 4x4 because of some winters and it's just nice to have in case I need it. There were times with my old 86 Custom Deluxe 2wd where I wish I had 4x4. It would make sense and be cheaper to just buy an old truck that came from the factory with a sraight front axle and no computer. Would also be much cheaper to lift. The truck and lift itself would be cheaper than a 6" IFS lift and then you have to add in rims and tires.

for me it's purely for looks. it was worth saving 3500 dollars when i bought it new to get pulled out when im stuck on the beach once a year. plus being in south texas, no need for it. if i ever move back home to NC, i will then regret it maybe for one week a year when it snows

I used my 4wd in my brand new 14 high country within 5 days of driving it off the lot. Took it hunting and I've taken it through the woods on a camping trip as well

That was me when I got my 98 back in '04, but of course it was already 6 years old. I learned my lesson on going mudding in a daily driver with that truck so I'm going to take care of this '14. Of course I love using it as a truck and don't mind it getting dirty, but I don't want it to see any real mud since I'm trying to take care of it. I'll get an old truck like I said before if I want a play truck.

I'm in northeast area of NC and we only had a little bit of ice one day. Like I said, I'd rather have 4x4 just in case instead of wishing I had it when I needed it. Even if it's only needed once a year that's enough for me. Plus if you think about it, that $3,500 isn't much when you divide it into the loan payments. I have a 7 year loan so that's only about $42 more a month which to me was worth it.
