I would think at least a 2.5" front level and a block in the back. Put some meats on it and call it done.

I don't lift trucks. Ever. Not my taste. I'm not fond of vehicles that require ladders.

Like others have already stated...It's yours....do what you want.

What dumbass would take a 45k truck offroad in the mud wether it be 2wd or 4wd. Really this is why they make 4 wheelers and razors, Etc. and trailers to put them on. C'mon man.

I used to have the mentality of gotta have a 4x4 and all that. Then I grew up. Dunno how old a lot of u guys are id imagine mid 20's. You'll see one day what I'm talking bout.

Well I'm 29 (I almost think like an old man lol when it comes to personal taste and opinions when it comes to vehicles) and I won't be taking my '14 mudding, only off-roading it will see is dirt and gravel roads. I want 4x4 for when we have snow storms. Sure it's not every week like some places, but I have had to put my old 98 in 4x4 with snow and ice on the roads. As I've said many times on here, 4x4 is one of those things that it's good to have and not need than to need and not have. Plus after getting a 4x4 I don't think I could go back to a 2wd unless it's a regular cab short bed performance truck and even then I'd also have a 4x4 daily driver. My first truck/vehicle was 2wd and if only it was 4x4. Being only 2wd it made me miss work while if I had a 4x4 I wouldn't worry about making it.

I am with you on the mudding thing. It took beating my 98 to death for 10 years (04 until April of last year) on and off road to realize it's not smart to do that stuff in a daily driver and only transportation. I've also said that you can easily buy and old truck without a computer, already a factory straight front axle and runs good for the price of a 6" IFS lift alone, let alone adding the price of the rims and tires. Thing is also some people will put a lift and all on a truck just for looks. I'm not into that. I won't tell someone who does that they're stupid, just not me. I won't even put tow mirrors on a truck unless I actually needed them, not because they're the thing to do to a truck. Same thing with getting a diesel. Most people my age or younger will get a diesel just because they think it's cool and just want to roll coal and never tow anything. I know you can make diesels pretty fast now, but the whole point of a diesel in a truck is for heavy towing. People can do what they want with their money, it's just I'm not the type to follow a fad unless I actually really like it. Not just so I can be like the guy down the street and I'm not going to get into a pissing match either. I guess some people worry more about looks than function, I'd rather have function and if I can get something that functions and looks good then I'll do that (like my N-fabs). I'm just not going to sacrifice function just for looks.

I agree although I see it a little differently. I think more younger guys with maybe less disposable income want certain things but sacrifice some of them for the sake of getting what they want right now. I know I've been there, more than once. If we're all honest, most of the time what we want and need are truly balanced by our pocket books. If money was no problem most of us would have all kinds of stuff we didn't really need. And that's perfectly fine. It's called being financially responsible. Anyway, I digress.

I for one have no intention, and never did, of hardcore off roading my truck. But I like to know that my truck is capable if I never need it. The only time I've put my truck in 4wd has been at the beach, and I needed it. I always say its better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. It's like carrying a gun everywhere I go. Do I really need it? Probably not and likely may never.

I for one have no problem with lifted 2wds anymore than I have an issue with dropped 4wds. I get the look aspect of it.

Me. And I'm probably closer to $57K into it with all the mods. I don't go looking for off-road adventures, nor try to find mud or whatever other obstacle. I hunt. And often it means driving off-highway, if not off-road. I most often stay on established trails/unimproved roads. I don't jump my truck full of dogs and gear. I just tool along to get where I'm going. Sometimes I get in a bit of a hurry on some of the dirt roads. But I'm not driving fast for a thrill. The less thrill, the better for me. ...and I hate waxing. I haven't waxed this truck I bought last March. I'm not saying that's a good thing, but I have put it off and should really get it done. I think I'll pay someone.

I have a 14 2wd and I want to lift it for looks also. Right now I have a level and 33s a/t and so far is gotten me through some mud, didn't get stuck on loose sand so is done what I wanted. I don't go off road alone but I also don't try to do more then what I know the truck can handle. My friend who has a 4x4 Ram with m/t is there just in case but I didn't need him. I actually had to pull him out when he got stuck trying to get out of a small pond and he's front tires didn't grip. Oh did I mention mine is just a v6. All this extra stuff is really nice but is expensive. I'm 23 and this is what I can afford and don't regret it and as soon as I get my work Truck working again, I'm lifting my 14

I'll be lifting my 2WD Z71 a little more hopefully by the end of this year. It already has a 2.5" level and a 1.5" body lift, but I'd like to install the Rough Country 5" knuckle kit. I also plan on going with the Toyo Open Country R/T since it's not a full blown mud terrain tire, but more aggressive looking than the A/T. I get a lot of compliments on my truck and no one has ever said anything to me directly about it not being 4WD. I don't plan to take it off-road other than an occassional dirt road or field, so 4WD isn't really necessary for what I need it for. I like the lift because it looks good to me, so do what looks good to you.
