22" Wheels Question

Even in Cincinnati area I think you're WAY low for $1000 for Denali wheels and tires. You put them on Craigslist and they'll be gone in 10 minutes for that price.

I agree, way too low at $1,000. I sold my All Terrain 20s with sensors for $1,400 in Minneapolis fairly easily. $1,500 doable, anymore will take some time and might not happen.

Saying the wheel/tire package is $3,000 is the same as saying you paid full asking price for your truck...

 

What did you really pay for the 22's? I believe it is more of a convenience then anything else as selling old wheels/tires, ordering new wheels/tires/centercaps/lug nuts/tpms/etc is a pain, then having someone install everything, then sitting on old wheel package while you get screwed around on Craigslist.

 

Not for everybody, if you can get hooked up from parts guy or tire shop then go for it, if you want the quick and easy just ordered them with the truck and they will install them at the dealer and be done.

Good point. The only thing is that the price I was quoted was off the base model. The customized features added to initial price based on what they were listed at. However if I calculate on that logic and I reduce the price of the wheels by the same percentage off from MSRP for the truck then the wheels would be priced at 2,628.

I'm a little late, but I went through the same thing. I ordered a 15 Denali and want to go 22s but they wouldn't let me keep the 20s. You can find the wheels and tires for cheaper ordering online and then still have the 20s as others have stated. I might want to keep both sets but def the 20s are worth 1k plus, esp brand new takes offs.

 

Ordering the wheels and tires are just that, ordering them. Then throw them in the back of your new truck then driving down to discount or where ever. A little spendy but I think you can get the new wheels tires on and the pcm done at the dealer for less than 3k... Then still have the wheels that came with the truck

I am pretty positive that the alignment specs are different from the 20's and 22's. Might be worth looking into.

 

Those that bought 22's after the fact what were you able to get the wheels and tires bought for?

Why would I need to have the dealer mess with the computer on the car? Both wheels would have the same overall diameter so the speedometer would not need to be updated.

Interesting point, I'll have to inquire. It wouldn't make sense to me why they would have different alignments, but I'm sure crazier things have happened. Hope not because that's cutting into the savings margin if I have to get an alignment. Although I would assume the tire place would know if the specs are different and if so then that's no big deal since the tire purchase would include a free alignment.

park your truck in a shady area, get your wheels stolen, file a claim, pay the deductible, and get 22's with a small upcharge from the dealer.

You shouldn't have any issues with alignment but NTB will do a free alignment "check" if you want to verify after the install

Even if I went with different 22" wheels the average wheel price at discount tire direct is $430+ not including tires.

It wouldn't be bad pricing when buying your new truck if you got to keep the wheels and tires you are already paying for in your selected trim level.

I paid 3200 for 20x10s and 37" trails. I paid 2000 for my wife's 22" reps with tires, lugs, and sensors. So yeah, 3+ k is bad imo. You can buy 22" GM reps all day long for under a thousand.

I've had two sets and know a few guys that have as well. They are great wheels. Also if these forums are any indication, people by and large have great experiences with reps. Don't sweat it.
