15 miles one way, uphill, in the snow?

Uphill both ways. :noway: 30 below and wind blowin hard enough only a short kid could stand up. Oh, I forgot. I went to high school in SoCal...

That was grade school, on a SAC base, in northeast MT, during the "cold war". Honest.

My first vehicle wasn't a car...it was a 73 Honda SL100. I figured it was cheaper to buy 2 tires than 4. :)

My first car was a 68 Chevelle Malibu.

Drove my Stingray convertible much like Spurshot above,

Truth be known, my father owned a Cadillac/Chevrolet dealership but was adamant that my older brother and I both had to learn respect for hard work and the value of taking care of our belongings before he was prepared to put us into late model automobiles. My first car at the age of 17 or so was a '66 Dodge Dart which at the time was probably 12 years old and had been rear-ended by a milk truck, It had boat trailer taillights screwed onto the rear quarter panels to maintain it street legal and it burnt more oil than gas.

I paid $ 150 for it and worked all summer long for $0.50/hour at a filling station to earn the money to pay for it. It was learning like that which taught me the value of hard work and taking care of vehicles I've owned. Come to think of it, back then I likely put as many miles per year on that bike that I do on my vehicles today.

Since those days, and still today, it amazes me to see some of the automobiles parked in high school parking lots. i.e. BMWs, new trucks, etc. but I guess I'm equally guilty having put my son in a brand new '01 Nissan crew cab V6-SC Frontier as his 1st vehicle back then.

My first car was a brand new Obsidian Black 2005 Subaru WRX. Now my dad drives the WRX and it has about 15,000 miles and 10 years old now.

That's the only thing in NE MT besides a feed store. We're you there?

No, I think that shut down sometime in the 70's, IIRC?
