Circa 2000, I was looking at buying from the local Chevy dealer when I was 18, just graduated. Saw a '92 Iroc 25th anniversary for 5k. Gorgeous blue paint still, and drove like new. Can't remember the milage.

My grandfather on my dad's side was going to cosign with me. I told him about the car and did show it to him. He said he'd think about it. Probably a day later, we go to the dealer and my dad goes along and convinces my grandfather to NOT cosign for it, but instead for 5k:::

a '93 Beretta, 4 cylinder, nothing special. ugly ass teal color. Reason from my dad? "your insurance would be too high." Note, i wasn't borrowing money either. I had a job.

My 2nd: '88 Lincoln Town Car. That thing was a fun ride, died after probably a year of driving it sadly.

3rd: After seeing a coworker with one, I found a '95 Beretta Z26. Color: Maroon. That car was a blast. I drove that for the better part of 6 years.

4th and current: My truck. Traded in the Z26 because it just had too many things going on to fix, and I was sick of cars by this point.

Haha, we all had questionable taste at least once in our lifetime! What made you get rid of your '08? That looked sharp!

Thanks, I definitely miss the HD. I'm getting married in June and wanted to get out of some debt before I tied the knot.

high school..

my first car, coronet cop car. 1974. Very excited 318.. never saw the road. Started nice.. bad tranny.

78 delta88 (301!)

74 f100, 3 on the tree converted to the floor. manual everything.

81 chevette, 3 speed auto. pin striped and white interior. That one actually burned rubber. :)

79 zephyr, 200 I-6. Square as can be. I like that model.

83 ford escort... the most violent ending to any of my engines since an 87 subaru with a rod that came out the top. I peeled the head up like a sardine can lid...and blew the side of the block open. Toxic was not the word for that.

I had so much stuff sitting around, my dad spoke up sternly, as the town was going to tax for junk yard if the broken cars did not go.

The truck I share here is my 22nd vehicle in 28 years. Above was just getting through high school. A subaru with the ea82 is my only foriegn project ever (3 main boxer)... still have one today. I wanted a beetle like warmer states have as hobbies, simple engine.

the most miles is chevy 305, this truck is my fourth or fifth, last editions, smarter injection. Had to have it. Almost 200k with the 305 in g body cars. Non stop for several years. I remember a fuel reimbursement just for work was 36000 miles, 12months.

anyway, high school was terrible. I ended up becoming a mechanic on airplanes.

1968 Impala Custom with a 250hp 327ci turbo 400 transmission. Paid $450 back in 1980. Had to rebuild the engine at 77k miles due to the cam lobe on #1 intake rounding off. This is a know issue with them back then. I basically rebuilt it with a blueprinted Crane 327/300 hp cam and got a set of double hump 300hp heads. So basically when I was done it went from a 250hp 327 to a 300hp 327. Ran great, but from that point on I had to run premium or I would get spark knock. I got 18mpg on the interstate with it. Not bad for a 4,000lbs vehicle.
