Why I hate my 2014 Sierra

Mine definitely does not shift that quick haha. I need a tune in my life for this truck!

I think we all do, you basically just need to find a dealer that will work with you. I'm going to ask around before i commit to one, otherwise i'll basically wait like my cousin did on his last sierra and get it around 70-90k. I mean hell the 2014 corvette stingray does 0-60 in 3.9sec with a proper driver. With decent drivers 4.5-5s. And that's with a 6.2L v8, yet that guys single cab sierra 5.3L + CAI + muffler + tune is getting 5.5s. It's really remarkable for a truck. Though i imagine the full size crew cabs and extended are a little slower. It takes a good 8-10 seconds for me to get to 0-60. There is a large delay. While the RPMs do ramp up pretty fast it's still not like that dudes video.

The other thing to take into consideration is that was just a diablo intune, a canned tune. Think about a diablew tune or black bear, plus exhaust, and a CAI. I don't even race my truck, but i do plan leveling it, adding brush/rear bumper, and putting toyo MTs on. I know my gas mileage is going to plummet but i think i can counter some of that weight with a tune/CAI/exhaust. I'm guessing if i were to hit the dyno before and after i'd see a 20-30hp boost with those upgrades as well. I'm hoping for 16-18 highway, 13-15 city. Which is sort of what i get now depend on how i drive and where. If i'm in the delta i'm like 15-16mpg city and 18-20 highway.

Again it's just a shame that we're having to look to tunes to really get the performance out of these new engines. You would think GM would back off of being so conservative considering every review i've ever read talks about despite specs on paper they don't feel that powerful down low and when towing. Even the 6.2l.

Here is a 6.2L with a tune running just under 6s.

This morning coming home from work i turned traction control off just to see what it felt like, and it certainly accelerates faster. Spun the stock goodyears for a good 3 maybe 4 seconds, ha it was fun. Truck feels a good deal more real with traction control off. Steering seems more sensitive and has more feel.

Just put it in park on my way out of the garage, and started to hold it down then it displayed "traction control off" and the T/C off light came up on the speedometer and i let up. So i guess held it down, i was under the impression i had to do so to turn it off.

It was pretty much similar to this but maybe a .5-1s long spin on the tires. I spun all the until i got through the light once it hit green. Of course idk the distance. I was a bit impressed. I want a tune!

Aw :(, i figured as much. Knew i felt i didn't hold it long enough. Though i've noticed as of late the stabilitrack emblem on the speedometer hasn't been lit up. It's supposed to be enabled as soon as the truck is started isn't it? I remember always seeing this emblem in orange at the bottom of the digital display with the other activated emblems.

get a custom diablew tune. thats a good video but NOTHING like the custom tune. you'll spin them until like 35. i had a stock tune and went with diablew, and i feel like diablo sport is cheating people out of a real tune after that.

this makes me want to post a video of the diablew tune on my 6.2

Hi,

I have a fix for the tranny and throttle, buy a hypertech programmer and you can fix those issues, I did it in my 2011 Silverado and it let me turn off cylinder deactivation, change shift points and run either fuel economy tune or performance tune. made it drive a lot better in my opinion, worth about 300 bucks versus the loss on trade and it will be tailored to your likes.

I need some advice.

My local Chevy dealer has a high country crew cab on his lot with the 6.2 but its a 2014 with the 6 Speed.

55,800+ and the offer is looking like if I trade (2k additional money off to trade anything 1999 or newer)

41,340 is the offer with potential another 500-1000 Autoshow money, so possibly 40,340 with my GM Card 3K.

Does that sound like a good deal, it has the cool brown leather, sunroof, nav, ect, basically fully loaded.

I am thinking they would give me 25 ish for my Wrangler that I paid 28k for with 4k miles in perfect condition.

Take the jeep in and get it appraised for trade value and let us know what they offer you on the HC then come back for advice.
