I would have to say that is 100% your opinion, and my opinion of that statement is, it's false. I've wrote multiple reviews being on a wide spectrum of upset/content/happy with the product I've bought.

 

Typically, people that do their own research and spend time shopping before they buy, write reviews. Because they understand the need/want to have an opinion and personal experience on a product of interest.

Maybe what he mainly meant was that if someone is having some kind of issue they will usually search on forums and the internet in general. So most new people on most forums join just to ask about an issue or issues. This forum is no different. It looks like it's more negative than positive on the K2s but that's a bad comparison since probably less than 1% of their owners are having real problems. I know the K2s still are having more problems than they should, but I mean if you look on here it makes it seem like it's a lot bigger percentage that are having problems than it really is.

Update! After posting this thread originally and hearing so many of you mention that Black Bear could indeed make my powertrain complaints go away, I contacted Black Bear. I got my tune yesterday and all I can say is WOW! The truck is completely different! Way better low end performance, better throttle response (there is still a slight delay), no more clunky shifts, no more premature upshifts, etc, etc. etc.

 

#5 and #8 in my complaint list are basically gone. In short, Black Bear did what GM should've done to begin with. They'd sell a lot more trucks after a test drive if the set up the trucks more like Black Bear does. Too bad my warranty is shot now... But, I now enjoy driving the truck!

your warranty isnt shot. just revert the tune to stock and take the truck in. id be worried about more than gm reading a flash counter, if they even can.

Glad to hear the Black Bear Tune is worth doing! I have been holdinig off on doing this Because the AutoCal is quite expensive but if it is worth it I don't mind paying out the money.

I'm unsure why gm is so conservative on their trucks. With a tune you see what real potential the 5.3L has. It's pretty frustrating really.

not true. read these forums, its been debated a lot, with no proof that gm can read the flash, and lots of companies saying gm cannot. while the companies are out to make a profit, i do not believe gm can read a flash counter. hell, they cannot even make the pandora app change stations with the steering wheel buttons.

 

gm can make a great engine, and a nice comfy ride. they are way way behind the curve in technology, and i'd take them to court over a flash counter any day of the week.

All you're doing when you connect the phone up to it is using the truck as the speakers. If they can have all of my phone's contacts come up on the screen just through bluetooth then I'm sure operating the Pandora app with the truck's controls aren't as simple as you think.

Mine definitely does not shift that quick haha. I need a tune in my life for this truck!

1) they cannot see the tune if you remove it, proven in the engine forum. diablo and others along with Gm have said when a tune is removed the flash counter is nil.

 

2) you can skip channels on pandora if you use the phone app via media, but you cannot with the gmc app via bluetooth. that has nothing to do with the phone or pandora. gmc has the worst integration of bluetooth, phone, text, and pandora of any car out. a free phone from boost mobile has more capabilities.
