Alright fellas, I just finished my rear bumper. Took almost all day, I could do the front today but the suns going down and it's a bit windy so I'll do it tomorrow morning. I'm extremely happy with the turn out! It matches very well! For a $50 paint job and some time I couldn't ask for better.

That turned out fantastic. I'd love to do mine, but I don't know the first thing about painting.

Thanks brother, & honestly I don't know much about painting either. I used plasti-dip. It's a removable paint that's cheap and comes off extremely easy if you ever get tired of the look.

I used plastidip on my emblems. Your pics look so good I thought it was paint. I may give it a try on my bumpers after seeing your truck. Did you use glossifier?

I'm not a white truck kind of guy, but to me, white and chrome all the way. Black rims get lost in the wheel wells with the tires, and quite frankly look like crap to me. You asked for an opinion, and this is coming from an old school guy, so take it for what it's worth. I know a lot of the young guys think the black wheels look "SICK", and I agree, but not in a good kind of way.

Well I consider myself still a young guy (30 this May so I'm kind of in the middle), but I don't say sick or epic or any of that crap and I still prefer black rims on a black or white truck. Chrome may look more classy, but I got out of my chrome phase. I like some chrome, just not too much. Plus with black rims or any other color it's less maintenance, because I don't want to polish chrome rims, especially if they're upwards of 20" or bigger. Chrome look fine, just saying that black rims look better to me on a black or white truck. Other colors I would probably go chrome. Some say black rims get lost in the tire since it's black on black, but it's not really that hard to see the line between the rim and tire unless you're far away. Plus with how people are wanting 20s and 22s or bigger and if they're chrome I just start to think about how a few years ago some people were into the ghetto big rim look. Black rims used to be something to do that would be different, but it's about equal now. I'm not the type to just follow fads, I do what I like and if I don't like it I won't do it just because it's a trend.

I plan on black rims for my black truck, but I wouldn't mind black with some machine parts to give it some contrast.

Hear hear..........I agree.......black wheels get totally lost in the wheel wells. I know there seems to be a lot of folks lately that for some unknown reason prefer that look, along with de-chroming and de-badging, but I really think that group is in the minority. I don't know anyone that would turn around and say "wow....did you see that beautiful truck"....they wouldn't give it a second look.

The OP's initial pics, with the chrome wheel absolutely blow away the later pics with the black wheels. Stay with the chrome, your truck looks awesome that way.

Thanks man! haha, after doing the front bumper I don't think I'll ever tackle this again lol. It took so much time and finessing with the little corners, but it was worth the effort.

Well having been in both camps with multiple vehicles I'll offer this.

I think everyone knows how I feel about too many finishes, so I'll spare you. But with your color truck, I think chrome is the best way to go. You have a classy color and chrome is timeless. It can be over done but so can black accessories on a non black truck. Or for that matter too many accessories, period.

I support Matt's view. Personally, I think your truck (EChavez) looked its best even before you added the aftermarket grille. White & Chrome makes for a nice neat presentation.

I plan to color match the mirrors and door handles to WDT this spring. I don't mind a little chrome and I think the combo of the WDT, the black wheels with chrome pieces and some additional black (like the fender edges, rear bumper steps, fog light recesses and tailgate handle) are all nicely complimentary.

BTW, I've received lots of praise on the black wheels on the WDT Denali from my 11-yo son all the way up to a 75-yo client, and every age (and gender) in-between. To each his own, of course, but I'm very happy with it. When it comes to vehicles, I like to have something that's just a little bit different than the crowd. Not too much different, but just enough to make you wonder what's different about "that one" to those who pay attention.
