Chrome vs Black Wheels

Alright guys I'm stuck on one simple thing. Wheel color lol. I know I'm not the only guy that can't decide if I should stick to chrome or go black so if you are stuck too feel free to ask for opinions. I'm going to attempt to colormatch some stuff this weekend (weather permitting) & I can't decide if I should stick with chrome wheels or dip them black. I have 3 pics. One is before, two afters; one with chrome wheels one with black. I'm doing the bumpers and if I have enough leftover I'll do the mirror caps & wheel well moldings. Need some opinions! If you have any pics of black vs chrome as well I'd love to see them! P.S Please excuse my sorry Photoshop skills.

What you gonna do with all the chrome trim on the sides? Leave it chrome or black it out as well? Same with the door handles?

Going to black out the Sierra logos and the moldings as soon as the bumpers are done since I did the rear ones. The door handles are the only thing I may or may not tackle later on because I've never had luck with removing them.

Black looks better than chrome on a black or white vehicle. Especially if the white vehicle already has black accents. If your truck was mine I'd get rid of all of the chrome and either color match the pieces or make them black. As you can see all of the stuff I added or changed is black. But, I plan on keeping all of the badges chrome and also the grille and headlight trim. I do want to have my chrome bumpers black chrome.

First of all, sweet truck. I have a buddy that has a Sierra All-Terrain in white and painted everything white. He then put on black wheels and it looks sick. I would go that route, but you will have to address the grill, if you white everything out then the grill will look out of place. Photoshop it with the grill frame white, mirrors, handles and trim all white. The thing with doing what you are doing is that you open a can of worms, the more you white out, the more out of place the remaining black bits will look. Bottom line, all white with black wheels is my two cents. White, black and chrome all together is too busy. Your off to a great start though, i like the grill.

I like the black, if the grille was chrome I would go chrome but if you go black I would leave the wheel opening moldings black or grey whatever color they are or paint them black when you do the wheels.

Looks like I am in the minority here, but I like chrome. The chrome looks good against that white.

I think it comes down to the image you want to portray. The chrome rims add some class and flash to the truck while black rims add a menacing bad ass attitude look. In my opinion the chrome looks sweet on a white truck, it's ready for anything. You obviously won't look out of place at the lumber yard or picking up your honey for dinner in the city. Just my humble opinion dude!

I'm with my Canadian friend above.

Black wheels look like a young guy with a baseball hat turned around should be driving it. It says: I'm a "recreational" vehicle. Nothing wrong with that, if that's who you are.

Chrome looks classy to me and is right at home with a guy in a suit or business casual or "recreating" with your hat turned around backward.

I have come around to liking the dark gray chrome like Bass Mechanic has on his truck. I think it's a nice balance to get a darker wheel for the more modern look, yet keeps a classy look as well.

But in the end, I'm definitely "Old School", including the 5 spoke part.

If your other trim pieces will eventually be black, then I think black rims would look the best. Just my opinion. If every square inch of your truck is going to be either white or black, then I think chrome wheels would look out of place. If you're leaving the other chrome on your truck, then chrome rims would probably look better. Just my $0.02...

I'm not a white truck kind of guy, but to me, white and chrome all the way. Black rims get lost in the wheel wells with the tires, and quite frankly look like crap to me. You asked for an opinion, and this is coming from an old school guy, so take it for what it's worth. I know a lot of the young guys think the black wheels look "SICK", and I agree, but not in a good kind of way.
