Sierra Headlights aren't Alone

You think your Sierra headlights are weak?

My friend has a 2008 Lexus that has projectors with 9006 bulbs. It looks like two ray-o-vac flashlights. I'd shoehorn in some 9011s for him but he's talking about selling it.

Yeah I've heard pretty bad reviews on the Lexus halogens. I'll bet its a IS250?

There must be problems with other GMC headlights. My dealer told me yesterday some GMC's have a tsb out for headlights and wasn't sure if my Sierra was included yet.

I really couldn't identify one Lexus from another.

It's pretty simple. Just look at the toyota version and imagine a lexus emblem and fake wood interior.

Same thing for nissan

spurshot , are you comparing a 2008 car to 2014 ? Cmon bro. I know it makes us feel better about the Shitty headlights but comparing it to a 7 year old model is just not fair. And beleive me I hate on Floyota and Lexus all day.

Well, I suppose you're right. But my 2008 Silverado had better headlights than my 2014, as did my 1999 1/2 GMT800 Sierra. Both were among the best I had driven.

PLEASE get him to tell you the TSB number...trying to find anything tied to the BCM reflash/ bulb swap referenced elsewhere on this forum to no avail.

I have to say that my 08 Silverado headlights are also the best that I've had.

You might put some H9 bulbs in the low beams. Good for some more light. You have to grind a tab on the bulb and use a pigtail from Bulbzilla (Amazon)

I have been riding my dealer hard on this and they are still playing dumb! Even after I sent them the part numbers for the new bulbs? Until there is a service bulletin I don't think they will do anything!!!!

I must be in the lucky minority... my '14 Denali headlights are actually pretty good. They illuminate sides of the road great. Of course I will always wish they could be better... may have to try this 9011 trick. :fingersx:

I did that to my 14 on your recommendation. Much better. Not great, but better.

The only downside is the bulbs have a short life. I was changing them about once a year. I bought them whenever I was at an Autozone or O'Reilley and modified them, then put them in the toolbox and a couple in the truck for trips where I might need them.
