Of the >50 separate problems/issues that I've read in the first 5 pages of this section of the forum, I for one am pleased to report that I have had only 2-two of them (e.g. headlamp condensation and seat heat element failure) both of which were fixed/replaced by my servicing GMC dealer as warranty items.

 

My point being, of the 29 pages of issues listed here, in many cases there appears to be multiple members who are experiencing one or more of the same issues.

 

Makes me question, am I one of the lucky ones? How about you?

 

Assembled in Mexico, I've owned my K-1500 now for 14-months and have no real complaints. Its been a great truck thus far.

I've had NO issues with my '14 Silverado, nor do I expect any.

It's been "good as gold".

You have to realize, there are people who will NEVER be happy.....unless they're complaining.

Give e'm a gold bar, and they'd bitch that it was too heavy.

My truck is approaching 30k miles any day now. Even though I've only had it for about 4-5 months, I've put over 6k of those miles on it myself.

 

 

If it had any problems they musta fixed em all before I got it. Course I don't have heated seats or anything.. and I have open beam headlights so maybe they're assembled differently or somethin.

 

I'm a GM nut. I buy em and work on em for better or worse. If I could afford it I'd own every year of these trucks and start a collection. I'd even get the rare option trucks like the plastic beds in the early 99-2000 trucks, and the quadrasteer trucks.

 

A few small problems here or there don't really phase me. It's things like "my truck burst into flames" or "my transmission dies every 800 miles" that would drive me away. That's why I don't drive a ford. been there done that.

My Silverado hasn't had a single issue. It's only been to the dealer for recalls and oil changes.

 

My Sierra is also problem free. I have a few complaints after owning it for 3 weeks or so, but they aren't actual problems.

Only complaints are crappy headlights and factory tires, otherwise very happy!

Although, I only have about 5000 miles on mine, I am happy to announce that mine is flawless except for an occasional pop from expanding plastic as the truck warms up inside. It used to make some noises while shifting but it has since settled down and all shifts are smooth now. I've never had a vibration as others have and I could not be happier with my truck as I currently am. I would recommend a new Silverado to by best friend and not think twice about it.

18,000 miles on my Chevy and no issues! 5,500 on my GMC and the only issue is the headlights aren't very good but nothing else.

Mine just hit 10,000 a couple days ago and no problems. The only problem that it DID have was the transmission shifting hard but it stopped around 1-2,000 miles so I just assume it was from being in learn mode and/or maybe needing to be broke in some.

17,000 on mine.

 

I fixed the crappy tires by getting rid of them the day I bought the truck. Only other real issue I've had is the radio reception which I am still working with GM engineering on. I am having some issues with the HVAC system but there is an update for that out there. Once I take my truck back to the dealer in the coming weeks for the headlight update I am going to have them flash the HVAC module with the new firmware as well.

 

Other than that the truck has been flawless, I have loved every minute of driving it.

I've got 13k on mine and my only issue was the seat movement. I fixed it on 5 min for $4.

 

I absolutely love this truck. After 13k miles I think any major issues would have reared their ugly head by now. Are there things I would change about it? Absolutely. Overall I think this will be a great truck for the next 10 to 15 years (I keep my vehicles a long time). I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. Before this truck, I only ever owned Fords since I was 16.

No, you're not lucky. You're one of the silent majority that hasn't had any issues. These are great trucks and that gets lost with all the crying, whining and complaining you see about stuff on forums and websites. It's not isolated to these trucks, people love to go online to bitch, but rarely do they solely go to praise. Congrats on the great truck you've got. Most enjoy theirs, too!

Put me down as trouble free after 8 months. I've been back to the dealer once for an oil change and they did recalls at the same time. I love this truck, I still take it out just to drive it. I traded in a 2013 that was a great truck but the 2014 is much better is so many ways.

Keep it coming!, We're building a consensus here that the 2014-K2XX platform is proving to be a great truck! I posted this thread for that very reason and to hopefully allow some of us to counter many of the negative comments and complaints that are often posted here in the forum.
