Mag Chloride Damage

Anyone have a way to remove or improve mag chloride damage? The chrome grill and wheels on my 2014 High Country are all spotted from it's first winter. i tried to keep it washed every 1-2 weeks all winter, but I guess I should move south!

Same with my running boards. Have to wonder why GM doesn't use the PVD process for chroming. My aftermarket PVD wheels still look like new after 2 winters.

I had a scratch on a wheel when I bought my truck. The dealer sent it out to Dent Wizard for repair. Dent Wizard did an awesome job. It looks perfect.

Any ideas/recommendations on clear coat that might prevent this from happening every single year? I plan to drive in many more winters!! The wheels especially look bad.

Clay bar and keep it waxed, I wax all surfaces including windows.

Yes you can use clay bar..One more things is that will help you to remove mag chloride damage.You can try mag wash also.It will remove the substance without damaging paint or any other parts of the vehicle.

Clay bar and M20 sealant. Sometimes the clay bar will leave tiny scratches on the paint so be sure to keep the bar/panel 100% lubricated. If there is any resistance at all you need more lube, final inspection works great.

Try Meguiar's hot rims chrome polish, there's also Turtle wax chrome polish, I use either of the two to protect chrome parts. I've been checking out this article, might help you clean those mag chloride stains.
