Trying to Buy a Sierra 1500 Crew Cab 4WD SLT in Chicagoland.... 40k or

All,

I'm working hard to see if I can make a new 2015 Sierra Crew Cab 4WD 5.3 v8 fit my budget. I'm really trying to get it to high 30s or max of 40,000 even BEFORE trade-in and would like to see if I can pull off 0% financing for 60 or 72 months (credit score is excellent so if available I should qualify.

Here are the links to a truck that has all my options including leather, moonroof, 4wd, upgraded Bose speakers, etc. I don't need to haul anything except put like 3-4 kids bikes in the back. I truly love the size and sitting up high though I do recognize that a Subaru Outback would be way better on gas for my stop and go traffic for about an hour each way in Chicagoland... However, I do love the truck. I like the Sierra a bit better as the comfort is important to me as I spend 1.5-2.5 hours in the car/truck each day during commuting (only go 23 miles one way... welcome to Chicago!).

Is it possible to find a truck lower than $40k with the specs below and still get 0% financing? Otherwise, it's off to get the Subaru. I've tried a few dealers and they don't seem interested in making it happen in the Downers Grove, IL area (western suburbs). Please let me know if you know a GREAT dealer and GREAT sales rep who you think can make this happen! If not I understand and maybe I need to wait a few years!

The best one dealer would do was MSRP of like $50,635 and pricing of $40,900 which was great but no good on the financing and the appraisal on my car to trade in was $800-$1000 less than everywhere else?

If I could get even less than the high 30s in a Silverado instead I would also consider it... but I did like the Sierra better... however... if it were the right deal.... or I could save 2-3k then it might be worth it.... but so far I'm not seeing that... I see roughly the same price for the loaded Silverado vs the Sierra 1500.

Thanks,

Kris

In california the Silverados are selling for slightly more than the Sierras, atleast from Truecar.com's statistics..

Try truecar.com and see what they're selling for in your area

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to get a SLT Sierra (leather) for under 40K and 0%. You can get 0% (or that might be over now) for 72/mo, or like 6-8K in Incentives/Rebates on the Sierra.

Silverado, you can find some with 10K incentives. With leather though, you're at an LTZ and it's gonna be hard to find one under 40K and 0%.

Several SIlverado LTs in local lots in my area with sticker prices in the low-40s. So yes, I think it's possible a new Chev/GMC for that price (in a lower to medium trim level), but you'll need to be patient and look around some.

What about Chicagoland GMC dealers? I'm having no luck with these guys... granted it might just not be possible but they don't even seem willing to try!

Doesn't TrueCar lag behind a little bit in that they wouldn't take into account any NEW incentives?

No harm in trying, that is for sure.

I don't get your comment though, if you don't get your deal you're gonna drive to Subaru? LOL, you're in the market for a truck, or a car?

I would not want to be locked in a Subaru 2 hours a day. :nonod:

Check your local credit unions for low interest rates on 5/6 yr loans.

Generally the 0% stuff is in trade for a rebate or two. But you or the dealer will have to read the fine print.

I bought at the other end of the State from where you are at Laura GMC Collinsville, IL. But think the deals down there(right now) are close to what you are finding.

If your willing to travel a little ways take a look at Laura Buick GMC and Dave Sinclair GMC both in the St Louis area. I don't think you will get much money for your trade if you have one because they will usually low ball you on trade but their advertised prices usually range between $10,000-13,000 off msrp depending on gm rebates at the time. I'm about 3 hours from them and was planning to drive up there and purchase from one or the other but my local dealership stepped up to the plate and gave me private party retail for my trade which made the overall out the door price just as good or better than I could have gotten at St Louis. God luck with the search. I bought a 15' crew cab slt similar to what you're looking for and I love it so far. Really quiet and refined compared to my two previous f150's and better real world fuel efficiency.
