As you may have already heard, the 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 will (finally) offer a new Black Out options package. The package carries free-flow RPO code ST7 and includes the following items:

  • 20” x 9″ black-painted aluminum wheels (NZQ)
  • P275/55R20 all-season blackwall tires (QSS)
  • Tailgate bowtie delete (K6H)
  • Black bowties (SFZ, LPO)
  • Body-color grille surround (TRB, LPO)
  • Body-color headlamp bezel (HQX)
  • Deep tinted glass (AKO)

The package has the following stipulations:

  • Not available at start production
  • Only available on the Double Cab and Regular Cab models painted in the Black color (GBA)
  • Not available with:
    • Chrome Bumper Package (PCX)
    • 6″ rectangular chrome tubular assist steps (VXH, LPO)
    • 4″ round chrome tubular assist steps (VXJ, LPO)

Given its refreshed, attractive styling and LED headlights and taillights, we’re sure the 2016 Silverado Black Out edition will look great. The only thing left now is to see one in pictures or in person (or better yet, both) and to find out how much it will cost.

A Blackout edition isn't really all that new (released in February for the WT trim level 1500 trucks). I own a 2015 Silverado WT Blackout Edition with the same wheel RPO (NZQ) same black bow ties, deep tinted glass, and all black around the grill. There's also a higher level Midnight Edition for people wanting the blacked out look and have a few more bucks to spend so for the article to say "finally" well... .hardly. The only thing new about this is that they carried over the package to the new 2016 body style.

That's odd that it's not available in the Crew Cabs...

Was the same deal when I ordered my 2015 WT blackout edition. When its just a matter of wheels, window tint and black bow ties I never understood either.
