Hey guys. My name is Rob. I'm 43, retired from the USAF. I've only been lurking on this site for a week, but it seems like a very active forum community.

Last Wednesday, I took my 2012 avalanche 1LT in for a cracked dash warranty replacement. The dealership is always bugging me to trade it in, because they say they sell well and are always in demand. Normally I tell them no, but this time I said okay let's see!

They offered me $29k for my avalanche, which only had 32k miles on it. Hell, FULL retail is currently only $31,300!!! I bought it CPO in February of 2014. I loved it, but with 2WD, it spun out a lot pulling our pontoon boat up wet, slippery, Sandy boat ramps. After a Ford owner offered to hook up and pull me AND my boat out, I said F that! I need a 4WD.

SO...I went in to look at a 2015 crew cab 1LT on clearance, and they offered me the last leftover 2014 they had...a Victory Red crew cab, 4WD Z71, 2LZ package, LOADED with everything Chevy possibly offers except the sunroof and vibrating alert seat. Sticker was $51,400. With several OEM accessories they had on it already, the addendum sticker was pushing $53k! Way outta my league.

Until they offered it to me for $40,400!!!!!!!!!! $11,300 off sticker? Giddy UP!

I bought it. It makes my 9th Chevy I've owned. My first car was a 79 Malibu Wagon full of subwoofers LOL.

Oh, and the sales manager bought my avalanche for his wife LOL.

Anyway, I look forward to many interesting conversations!

Congrats on the new truck and thanks for the service. I spent 3 years at Eglin AFB/Hurlburt Field myself.

Thanks, guys... :)

Yeah, I'd say the truck deal WAS a home run! Man, this truck is SO quiet inside, and the chassis is so stiff. This is unlike any GM truck I've owned. Very good build quality, and a nice fit and finish. Corvette Red wouldn't have been my first choice of color, but it looks smoking hot! Kinda like my wife LOL (my Avatar )

Thank you for your service. Great story man, congratulations! Dealer's wife must be wanting your Avalanche badly so he offered you an irresistible deal, congratulations! Definitely one sweet red truck.
