The Win and Awesome has been Dinged!

Well, after 6 years and 53K miles, the Win and Awesome no longer has a pristine body. A friend of the family accidentally backed their Nissan into the left fender and left a rather nasty dent (from what I heard from dad, the Nissan didn't fare as well).post-70738-144217687611_thumb.jpg

It looks to have done around $500-$600 in damage, which should be covered under insurance. After mom saw the damage, she joked "I can drive it now!"

itll buff out

yeah, a couple of days in the body shop, and it will be right as rain; at least we have backup vehicles to drive instead of having to deal with Rental companies. I'll let you know what the actual estimate is going to be to fix it.

Was your truck hidden behind a curtain?

It is absolutely astonishing to me how that can happen.

To overlook a pole or even a small tree right behind the car...okay. Shit happens.

But a full size truck? How can someone not see that?

Car makers should link the back up camera to the I-phone. That might help....

Sorry for your trouble. Hope you can get it fixed properly.

Read his signature.

Win and Awesome was some contest for Lowe's employees as a vehicle give away. He won his truck through the contest and apparently named the truck after the contest.

well, the Person that Backed into it is an older Woman, and the Nissan Altima she has, has some Pretty Bad Blind Spots.

EDIT: well, we went to one of the reputable Body Shops in town this morning, and I was WAAAAAY Off on the Estimate; its going to be $1,181 and they will have to blend in the door, which involves removing the lettering on that door.

?? Maybe to get in behind the fender ... to have access to push it out ??

PS - that dent definitely streched the metal alot if not the entire area ... so getting to original line, edge(s), and then the surface flush is a challange ... without using ALOT of filler ... new fenders are cheap and easily installed, (but the paint match is a always an issue, either way)

I wouldn't call $360 for an AFTERMARKET fender cheap. And a fender direct from GM is nearly HALF A GRAND!
