I was driving from Detroit to Toledo, possibly speeding in the never ending construction zone....saw 2 "cops" tailing me so I pulled off at the next exit to get coffee and not deal with them following me for the next 10 miles of construction zone.

They exited too. F. I pulled into the gas station, they both came in too. Double F...guess I'm getting pulled over??

2 douche bags pulled up on both gas pumps on either side of me and get out...

to get gas...whew!

Then I saw theses douchers didn't have guns...then I looked at the "police" car and saw it was Chevy marketing their tahoes as "police" cars?

These clowns were definitely not cops, they were dressed in business slacks and polo shirts that with Chevy on them.

WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.....how is that not illegal???

See pic.

Loooool

since I worked as a flagger and my husband in contruction (on the road / hwy all the time) I think this is just funny - speeding in a construction zone...really?

This ain't about illegal --- sombody's pi...d. Oh well.

Speeding IS illegal, especially in a construction zone.

Oh wait that isn't what you were talking about. So it is ok for you to speed but not ok for cops to follow you or get gas at the same place as you? I do realize they weren't cops but the question is still the same.

I do agree gm would probably be a little better off if they didn't plaster police down the side or if they covered it with an out of service magnet while driving them.

They're police demo vehicles. Not "real" police cars. 9C1 is the long-used RPO code for the LE upfit models. Dodge has the same with the Charger and I'm sure Ford has it too. They do the police style graphics but very prominently display their branding. Nothing illegal. Nothing deceptive.

Do you live in this area? You should be used to various strange manufacturers cars running around.

And more importantly........Stop Speeding in Construction Zones!

You are either military or civilian. Police are civilians.

We now return to the thread.

Yep driving through Nashville Tn. cars and trucks estimated 60-70 mph in 45 mph construction zone . :idiot: Only time people slow down is when a crash or police working the area.

In some states they would of had to put a cover over the light bar, just as I did when I went through some states in my personal vehicle as a fire chief. "butt if you aint doin nothin wrong the you have nothin to worrie about" lol.

My friend works for the local city as a service worker, he drives the cruisers to the local ford store for service, you don't have to be a cop to drive a cop car.

some states do not allow the word "POLICE" to be on your vehicle. I've actually worked with a cop who used to stop and ticket the poor guys who would buy crown vics from auction and not remove the "police interceptor" tag off the back of the car.

lol...back in Germany I've heard about a guy who's imported a Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.

He was driving down the Autobahn to go to a American Car Meeting.

The cruiser was geared up with all the bells and whistles. I don't t know if he's got the car this way shipped across the pond or if he added the light bars and such afterwards.

Anyway, they pulled him over and canceled his registration on the spot for reasons of the impersonation bla bla.

I get the point but a German police cruiser does not look even close to an American one.

Both those cases seem a little extreme. Especially hassling someone for the police interceptor badge on the trunk. The story from Germany is silly too but German police strike me as a no-nonsense bunch.

Maybe they were just jealous.

An American police cruiser looks much "cooler" than a German one. :)

And it's the same everywhere, I guess.

You can get lucky and meet a relaxed officer or unlucky with an unhappy one.
